I have been there 2x, both times with different people. We enjoyed the coffee drinks, and our entrees... I had the Tropical Plate (no idea why it's named that --- nothing tropical about it!) It's a delicious combination plate with ropa vieja (slow cooked shredded beef in a tomato based sauce) topped with lettuce, tomato, & sour cream, alongside savory beans & rice and sweet plantains. I had it 2x and it was plated and served slightly different the 2nd time. It was delicious regardless. My companions ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich (w/ Pineapple) and also the Cobb Salad. My grown son didn't finish the sandwich, but he said it was good. The salad was devoured in it's entirety. The cheesy french fry appetizer was good. We ordered desserts to go the 2nd visit. That's where we were slightly disappointed. We ordered one of each kind of cake -- one was a guava bread pudding and the other was a tres leches chocolate cake. Both were dry and we didn't finish them. Price wise, for lunch both visits were a little pricey -- $40 the first visit & $60 the 2nd. The 2nd time we added an appetizer and 2 desserts. Preface: This modern and sleek cafe houses beautifully made Columbian cuisine. With outgoing staff and an amazing menu, this is exactly what is needed in Wildwood/The Villages area.
Food: I ordered the paisa bowl, a latte, two lemonades, and their take on a grilled chicken sandwich with mustard, bacon, and pineapple. Through and through, everything was fresh and delicious. Some of the best food I've had in this area.
Service: All of the staff are super friendly and help to educate anyone new to Columbian Cuisine about the menu. Extremely efficient in service of both food and beverage products.
Atmosphere: Vibrant and Pristine. It's a little bit warm, but it adds to the experience of the restaurant.
Overall: Candelaria es la restaurante de mejor en Wildwood/The Villages. Nada se compara. That's English for its pretty dang...
Read moreWent to try this new place. Happy to see some Latin food in the area. Place is really cute and clean. We tried different things, enjoyed everything we eat, however had one BIG disappointment hence the 4 stars. We asked for a coconut lemonade recommended by the cashier, come to find out we were charged $7.50 for what looked like 16oz frozen drink. I’m not going to lie, it was good, but for the price it should be at least double the size!! I informed the cashier and the owner’s wife about it my dissatisfaction. Hopefully they will rectify this as we would like to go back. She said thank you for the feedback, but I was hoping to get another lemonade to make it right. 8/11/24 updated: they listened and make the coconut lemonade bigger now. I have now given them 5 stars!! They do have the best coffee...
