Excellent food and the menu has a good variety to choose from. They also have a full liquor bar if you like to have a drink with your meal or a mimosa with your breakfast! They run the full gamut of breakfast, lunch,& dinner and i would recommend them all. I would price it at above average cost but you pay for what you get and it is all good so enjoy! The waitresses and angie who waits and bartends is the absolute best! They actually now have extended there hours by now opening up at 7:00 on saturday and sundays currently! So thats good news for on the weekends! Metro consistently has great service and the employees are all so helpful and treat you like your there best friend! Still great food and you get it fast! Great breakfast place and the workers are Great always make you feel comfortable(Angie,Jackie,Dakota)! Theres ben some changes at the metro lately our bartendress jenny is no longer there. Who really liked but now weve got Angie bartending & waiting on us and she does a great job always smiling and happy! Our favorite bartendress/waitress Angie always takes care of us the best. My 98 yr old WW2 veteran father calls her angel instead of angie. She knows exactly what we all drink and is getting them ready for us as we walk in the door! The food is always top notch whether its breakfast, lunch or dinner! All the other workers there are also very helpful(jackie)and always have a smile on there face! Now metro went and changed again and fired angie which we really had a concern about! Does the management not vet out these people they put in these positions and but in actuality set them up for failure? They put a really good person in a position and then a year later they are gone! Then we have to see if we like and get along with a whole new person and the way they do things which after awhile it gets to where you think i will just try a new place! Your atmosphere isnt that much better then the next restaurant! Youve got to realize employees and food is all weighed into the factor for going to a place especially on a repetitive basis especially in the food...
Read moreWhat a disappointment! We chose this eatery for our last dinner at The Villages for several reasons. We viewed their menu on line and were fascinated by the choices. We also thought that being a Friday night, we would have a minimal wait time at a diner. There was no wait time when we arrived around 4:50 p.m. Our waitress took our drink and dinner orders after not too long a wait. However, we must have waited around at least 20 minutes for our order to be delivered. I ordered a hamburger, rare, raw onion, lettuce and tomato, coleslaw and fries Extra Crispy. My husband ordered a ham and cheese on a croissant with lettuce and tomato. Our friends ordered Metro Diner's famous fried chicken platter with mashed potatoes, and his wife ordered a Ruben sandwich. Approximately 15 minutes after we put our order in, I realized I forgot to ask for the slice of raw onion, so I asked the waitress to please add the slice to my hamburger. Shortly thereafter, she came back with a small plate of two outer rings of a red onion, instructing me to just put it on the burger. My hamburger was Cold, the fries were Not Crispy, there was no lettuce and tomato. I NEVER SEND FOOD BACK, but I had no choice. My husband's simple sandwich was less okay as it was sloppily put together, as it fell apart each time he picked it up to eat. Our friend's fried chicken was just okay, but his mashed potatoes were cold. His wife's Ruben sandwich was also sloppily put together, the onion rings were wimpy. We were very disappointed. We waited a little to be served. We waited a lot for our food, and the quality was sub par. The restaurant was crowded, but that should not be the excuse. We all agreed to pass on our poor experience to those of the community where we live. In an environment such as The Villages, where the environment is encased and closed off from outside businesses, all businesses have to work hard to gain the trust, acceptance and business of the community they serve. I guess that Metro Diner...
Read moreEDIT: Today is 2/2/25. Tried Metro Diner again.......nothing has been improved!!! Corners of bench seats are broken, rough edges. Tabletops are sticky, because they haven't been wiped. Our server had 2 tables and he (brown hair, Caucasian) couldn't refill our coffee.....I went to the drink station to get more coffee for us!!!! Our eggs were cold (cheese in husband's omelet wouldn't even melt!), bacon limp (it was ordered crispy!) and the butter wouldn't melt on my cold pancakes (you'd think it would start melting, being carried to the table!). They weren't even busy!!!! It's sad that this place just can't seem to get it together......the manager is always in the kitchen, you never see her in the dining room. I'm not sure if the staff needs better training on how to wait tables, if a dining room manager is also needed (most sit down restaurants have 2 managers-1 kitchen, 1 dining), or if they need more kitchen staff.....but the manager shouldn't always be the expeditor!!!! Heather said she'd fix this place a year ago......it hasn't happened!!!! What is the problem and why can't y'all fix it?!?! Hopefully someone can take heed of my few suggestions!
It had decent reviews, but it was actually disappointing. It was our first time here. Our server was also the bartender, so I don't feel we got the best customer service, as she was super busy bartending (Saturday brunch). The food seemed lacking in flavor...no seasoning, no love. It was lackluster at best, so I doubt we'll be back, there's too many other places around with tastier food and...
