I’ve been coming to this Dairy Queen since before I was even born. My mom craved Blizzards so badly while pregnant that I’m pretty sure my first kick was just me reaching for a spoon. She knew labor would be as challenging as the Michelin Man’s mother trying to squeeze out her son, but she powered through, and that’s basically how I got my name. Ice cream has been my ride-or-die meal companion ever since. Lunch, dinner, late-night “oops I blacked out and somehow ended up at the drive-thru” snack, it’s always been there for me. There was a time when I live just one block away (I swear it wasn’t intentional…or was it?), which only proved fate wanted me in a committed relationship with this Dairy Queen. And as with any healthy relationship, faithfulness means regular visits and shamelessly devouring large portions. I have since moved to another city, and on my last visit I noticed the place had a whole new look. Which leads me to wonder…new ownership? Or just the same loyal crew with a glow-up? Either way, I approve. Bottom line: if ice cream is therapy, this Dairy Queen is my therapist. Only difference? This one never charges me $200 an hour, just a couple bucks and maybe my dignity when I lick the cup clean in the...
Read moreVanilla soft serve was tasteless. I mentioned this to the proprietor and he blamed Dairy Queen corporate. I don't care about what your national chain is doing wrong (I've never had an issue with DQs soft serve before, I love it actually) but I do care about what you are going to do to make it right. He simply said I should have asked for a sample before I made him make the sundae. I didn't have the option for a refund or to exchange of what is a pile of tasteless milk-based glop covered in peanut butter sludge. This is coming from the guy who has Oreo smores blizzards prices the same as anything else but will charge you $.99 for some graham cracker crumble because it's not on the list of approved blizzards and he won't dare substitute because "things cost different and it would make it too expensive". I do financial valuations all day long. Don't lecture me about how your concerns with 3 cents worth of topping keeps you from the great customer service I've had at literally every other DQ in the country. I will...
Read moreI am not the type to write bad reviews especially to a small business. I always try to speak to ownership/management first to get things resolved before doing so. However, in this case, we tried and no success.
This review is based off my teenage nephews work experience. He was working for Dairy Queen and informed me that the soda machines are filled with ants and they are told to still serve the soda to customers regardless as it's hard to see them anyway. That is disgusting. Second, they make the employees clock out once their shift is done but make them stay another hour cleaning without getting paid- this is illegal. Lastly, my nephew finally quit and they decided to only pay him for half his hours, once again illegal. It's such a shame that they're doing this to poor kids that don't know any better. That is unfair and they should not be taken advantage of.
I hope the owner reads this and starts paying their employees properly and stops serving the customers dirty soda filled with ants. Please do...
