My 70-something year old mother is a regular at Los Gallegos since she loves Spanish cuisine and Los Gallegos has really delicious Spanish food. An old family friend invited my mother, my teenage son and middle-aged me to lunch and this was the place we chose to eat with her.
My mom did a great job ordering for us since she knew their portions were large. We all shared the fish soup, fried calamari (squid) and seafood paella. Then each of us ordered different desserts: the flan, the creme brûlée, chocolate cake and pears poached in wine accompanied by a cup of coffee (either cappuccino or espresso). Every dish was rich in flavor and absolutely delicious! The soup and the paella had generous portions of fish and seafood! The desserts were really nice too!
The couple at the table adjacent to ours also appeared to be regulars. They ordered different bottles of wine and tried several of the dishes including fried calamari, grilled octopus and a platter full of assorted grilled fish.
This is a family-friendly and family-run business that was very welcoming to all customers as if they were eating at the home of close family friends rather than at a restaurant. Victor, Domingo, Charlie/Carlos and Oscar were all very kind, friendly, helpful and attentive to us as well as to all the other customers at Los Gallegos. We had excellent service with a smile and they also took photos of us seating at our table o we would remember that...
Read moreThis has always been one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. Good food, good service. Restaurants now a days are going through some very difficult times. Therefore we placed a take out order of our favorite menu items. When we got there, I could not believe what I saw. Non of the staff were wearing masks! If anyone one of them had the Covid 19 virus, they could easily be spreading it over all the food they were preparing. On top of that, there were three other people milling around the bar. They did not have a table set up at the entrance to the restaurant for people to come, pick up their order and pay. It was truly disappointing how they were disobeying all the rules in place to minimize the risk of contagion. This showed extremely poor judgement on their part and we refused our order. We will never...
Read moreThe best and most authentic Spanish restaurant in Miami. I've been to this place many times (like over 30 times and counting) and decided to finally write a review. It's not some trendy, pretentious tapas place, it's an authentic Spanish hole in the wall serving great quality food and wine. If you want to go for just tapas, the Mar y Tierra, Boquerones, Croquetas, Gambas al Ajillo, Garbanzo fritos, chorizo al vino, pulpo a la gallega, and many more are all fantastic options. If you want to go for tapas and a meal, the seafood, pork, and red meat are all worth having. The waiter Domingo is fantastic and the manager Victor a great host who both treat you like family and are attentive over their tables. You can't go wrong going...
