Debbie's Diner — Restaurant in Florida

I've been on a diner kick since moving to Florida and there's no shortage of them. So my husband and I checked out Debbie's Diner. Atmosphere is nice and welcoming. Not a lot of seating but enough for the small diner. Definitely clean. Menu is plenty and gives you a variety of things to choose from for breakfast and lunch. We started with the fried mushrooms and they are on par with other places mushrooms. My only complaint is that there wasn't really anything else other than one variety of ranch but nonetheless these mushrooms are great without it. When it came to our entree, my husband's only complaints was the eggs were under seasoned and his biscuit was cold. My entree, the chopped steak, was cooked nice however it tasted like there was no seasoning. Not even sure if salt and pepper was used. The flavor mostly came from the gravy. The sauteed mushrooms and onions in my opinion, were not sauteed. The onion rings were perfect! No dip required for them either. Service seemed to be a tad slow but food came out in a timely manner. So not really upset about that. Everyone was friendly and cheerful. Staff very welcoming. Overall not a bad place. It's definitely a place to take family or friends who need little to no seasoning...

Great hole in the wall place to eat along the 520 Causway from the outside it does not look like much, but when you go in it is very nice lots of seats and tables that are nice and the food is great prices are very fair and everyone is very nice. It is kind of a locals place you almost have to know it’s there to find it as you could easily drive right by this great little place to eat and miss all the goodies they have to offer inside. I almost did not review it as . I wanted to keep it on the down low so I can enjoy it’s peaceful atmosphere and casual feel, rather going to one of the other very busy places where it’s like there sloppin the hogs atmosphere sit you down fast pounce on you what do you want have you decided yet what do you want then your food comes your about to take your last few bites and there picking your plate up you don’t want that do you oh and here’s your bill I’m going home in a few minutes can you help me out here and pay the bill now kind of places . Thank god Debbie’s is nothing like those...

We ordered from here on Uber Eats and decided immediately after ordering to switch one of the entrees. We canceled the order (which Uber let us do) and reordered with a different entree. Today I noticed I had been charged twice. I reached out to Uber who said Debbie’s Diner said they had already started the meal so we were charged. What?! It was 30 seconds after we placed the order. We had not gotten a notification of the order had been started. If the order had already been started, and we were going to be charged or we allowed to cancel? At the very least we should’ve been given the option. We would’ve gladly taken in the first order. What a scam Debbie’s is running- we ordered post roast the first time and switched it. Pot roast is already made so it’s not like they threw the food away. If we were going to be charged, we would have gladly received our food. It’s unfortunate, bc we were excited to have found a new place to order from but based on this experience we will NEVER order from here...
