So Seeing These "Reviews" Renews the Fact That "Businesses" Absolutely Can Get Rid of "Real" Reviews or Should I Say, Negative Reviews. But I'll Bite, 1 Last Time. Day B4 Veterans Day Actually, So A Sunday, We Experienced The Absolute Worst Visit In Any Year, Ever, at This Restaurant. We've Been Going Since the Beginning, Over 30 Years. Never Ever Had Such A Horrible Experience. Never I Don't Believe in ANY Restaurant Let Alone This One. But, Not Sure After Going for That Long, Being a "Loyal" Patron For That Long, That We'll Ever Go Back. Won't Go Into All the Disrespect We Received, the Four Of Us, But I Truly Do Believe the "Server" a Female Had an "Issue" with Veterans. She Shouldn't Have, We're Extremely Great Tippers! Always Have been. This Server Was New, But What The Mgr. Did Was Worse Because Although He "Acted" Concerned & I'd Already Told Him We Were NOT Waiting for "that" Server to Take Our Order, Again, "I" Asked for Another Server & We Just Didn't Feel Like The Mgr. Really Cared. The Server We Were Fortunate to Take Over Though, He Is the ONLY Reason We "Might" Go Back. Because HE Alone Made it a Visit That Was Not Just Tolerable After The Rest of the "Visit". If HE Was Actually There We'd Go Back. His Name is "J". We'd Definitely Recognize him Again. Really Nice Kid & Totally Changed Our Minds About Staying After "All" the Rest. If Not For Him, We'd Have Left & Never Gone Back, After Over 30+ Years. The "Manager" a Male, He Did Check to Make Sure Everything Else Was Good But The Entire Experience Was Very Uncomfortable & Except For "J" We'd Never Give this Restaurant Another Chance. As a Matter of Fact the Other Couple Who Are Longtime Friends & He's Also a Vet, a Purple Heart Recipient, Does Not Want to Ever Go back. I'm Hoping "J" Changed His Mind. We'll See & Oh The MGR. Did Tell Us to Make Sure We Came Back the Next Day for Veterans Day. Although We Told Him, We're 2 Couples, That Never Take Advantage of That Because We'd Rather Others Take that & We'd Rather Leave it FOR Them. We Of Course, Did Not Go back the Next Day. Need a While to Get Over the...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences we've had out. Was past rush hour lunch time, restaurant was not busy, had ample staff waiting, however, it took a ridiculous amount of time for everything. I'm talking 20-30mins+ each time. We asked for bread and Alfredo dip and only one or the other was brought out at a time so the other was cold when they finally got around to it. This happened twice! Cold Alfredo is not good. The first basket of breadsticks were rock hard, like croutons. The salad had a lot of browned and wilty pieces of lettuce and the pepperoconi peppers were at most the size of a quarter. Our drinks were never refilled, even took several requests for more water. One guest in our party had every part of their order come out wrong - brought salad instead of soup, brought the wrong soup, and then brought the wrong meal. Unfortunately that meant they had to sit and wait even longer. Our whole party was done and ready to go when they finally got their meal. The server said "don't worry, my manager will be comping this meal" which made it a little better even though there was still no apologies for all of the errors. We had a birthday in our group, two other tables had singing while we were there, nothing for our table. When it was time for the bill, the meal wasn't comped, and the server dramatically says "oh the wrong meal was the one that was comped, you can't expect to eat for free." He took the wrong meal back in the kitchen with him! Of course I'm not going to pay for that one. My toddler was getting antsy, I was getting frustrated, so I just paid and left. Very...
Read moreThirty years ago, she said “Yes” at the Olive Garden on Merritt Island FL. My wife and I were engaged to be married on August 29, 1991 in the 3rd booth at the back of the restaurant, and we have a photo of that night. The staff there helped me pop the question by singing a song and holding up signs saying “will you marry Dave?” It was a special event, and 30 years later we wanted to celebrate at that same restaurant. So, we flew to Florida from Kansas City, made the reservation, ordered a cake from Publix (Olive Garden stopped making those lovely little mint chocolate cakes years ago) and shared a meal with my cousins who live in the area.
When the manager saw our cake and heard about our special occasion, he came out to speak with us and listen to our story. He was so nice and really made us feel right at home like family! On top of it all, he comped our meal as well as sent us a gift card!!!
What a great place and an amazing leader. The Olive Garden headquarters should know you have real gem in Manager Chris Day. On this day, we celebrated our love for each other, as well as our love for Olive Garden!
Oh, and the food is just as good today as it was 30 years ago. We love the “Tour of Italy”. The salad and breadsticks are worth the trip just by themselves.
Thanks again for a marvelous meal and a...
