We walked in for the first time being here, were not greeted, nor was there a sign instructing us whether to sit down or wait to be seated. So we walk to the counter where again we had to ask what to do. At this point we almost left.
We were asked what we wanted to drink before being given menus. I wanted to order a beer as I saw a wine menu on the table, so I figured they served beer, but it was not on the menu nor was I offered it.
We ordered garlic knots, cheese fries and a cheese pizza. When I try a new place I like to try a few things on the menu. (We only tried here due to the previous reviews)
The garlic knots were good. The cheese fries never arrived and were going to be served to us after our pizza. They are a side item, and I expected it as an appetizer, not with my entre.
The waitress stands here blaming the chef, unprofessional. To speak of that, she had headphones in the entire time while serving people, started taking our order then walked away after I started speaking, came back to finish taking it. I didn't really expect it to be right.
The pizza we ordered was supposed to be extra cheese, it wasn't. On top of that it was just ok. The crust was hard, clearly overcooked.
While we waited for our food, we watch the dining room and habits. The ice machine was filled, but the top of it was placed on the floor while it was filled. There was a layer of dust under the ice machine.
I can say that this was our first and last visit here.
Edit: In response to the owner.
I am glad to see your response. In the time we were here, one person left being told they had to wait 25 minutes for their pizza to go, another family was sitting before we arrived, and waited at least 30 minutes for their food to go, at which point no one in the place knew they had food to go. The waitress served a Medium cheese pizza to a different table, then when the cook told her there was another one ready, she said she already had her medium cheese for the dining room (at this point I didn't think I was going to get my pizza, I almost stood up, and had to waive it down).
I would love to give your food another try, maybe when you can figure out a decent staff.
Also side note #2, when people walk in that are new, and are not greeted, and stared at by half of the restaurant that is already seated, when there is one waitress, and two women standing behind the counter doing nothing, looking for something to do (the one that came into the dining room was very friendly and specifically stated to the older one that she had nothing to do), maybe it should be someone's job to greet and seat customers... Cause for me, when I stand at the front door for a minute (60 seconds, longest 60 seconds ever, first generation Italian I almost yelled does anyone work here) I almost left before even thinking about eating.
Also maybe add beer to the menus on the tables, or at least have the waitress offer it to customers..

Read moreWorst Sicilian pizza ever! I grew up eating it. I so enjoyed helping my mom and grandma making it. Instead of my own explanation I googled it. What makes Sicilian pizza different? AI Overview
+5 Sicilian pizza is distinguished by its thick, square-cut crust, often described as airy and spongy, and is typically baked in a rectangular pan. It often features a generous layer of tomato sauce, cheese, and toppings like sausage, vegetables, and onions. The dough is usually made with a combination of flour, water, olive oil, and yeast, and is known for absorbing the oil in the pan, resulting in a crispy bottom and a soft middle. Here's a more detailed breakdown: Crust: Thickness: Sicilian pizza boasts a thick, substantial crust, often an inch or more thick, which can be likened to focaccia. Shape: It is typically square or rectangular, baked in a pan, rather than the round shape of traditional pizzas. Texture: The crust is known for its airy, spongy interior and a crispy, almost fried bottom due to the oil in the pan. Toppings: Sauce: Sicilian pizza often features a thick layer of tomato sauce, sometimes layered on top of the cheese. Cheese: Mozzarella is a common topping, but some variations use other cheeses like caciocavallo. Toppings: It can be loaded with a variety of toppings, including sausage, vegetables, artichokes, onions, and more. Preparation: Dough: The dough is made with flour, water, olive oil, and yeast, and is allowed to rise for an extended period before baking. Pan Baking: It's baked in a rectangular pan, often oiled, which contributes to the crispy bottom. Topping Order: While New York-style pizzas typically put sauce on top of the cheese, Sicilian pizza often has the sauce underneath, allowing the cheese to caramelize and bubble. In essence, Sicilian pizza is a hearty, flavorful experience with a focus on a thick, crispy crust and generous toppings.
We put pepperoni and/or anchovies on the dough then the sauce (loaded with onions) and last was the cheese - parma and lots of it. We made at least 20 of them at a time... lots of...

It was clear that Famous Sal's takes pride in providing quality ingredients and ensuring their customers get their money's worth. The wings were succulent and flavorful, leaving me wanting more.
Moving on to the pizza, I was equally pleased. The crust had the perfect balance of crispiness and chewiness, and the combination of toppings we chose was simply divine. The pepperoni added a savory kick, while the peppers and mushrooms provided a fresh and satisfying taste.
