This place has been a staple of the Suntree area for a very long time. I have probably eaten here more than any other Mexican restaurant in the area. Not because it's the best, but because it's close, decent, and well priced.
We mostly eat lunch here. My normal go to is a lunch special consisting of an enchilada and a taco, along with the beans and rice. I also get a taco on the side most of the time.
The enchilada is usually kind of small. The food has actually gotten a bit less flavorful over the years. We are there today and the food was very bland. Very little seasoning on the food. I've never had to add salt or hot sauce, but had to today.
The salsa they serve with the chips is par for the course. You will need to ask for spicy if you want a kick to it. The stuff they bring out is very mild (to me).
The well brand liquor margaritas are typical for a place like this. You can also get 1/2 gallons of them to go. Soda is $2.50, so get one to go. They also charge for club soda, so be aware.
Kids eat free on Sundays. But beware, half the time they "forget" to take the kids meals off. Make sure you look at your check.
All in all, it's not the greatest, but it's not the worst. Service is always fast. We have never had to wait for food. They are always friendly and never get...
Read moreWife wanted to go here for her birthday dinner, worst meal we've had in longer than we can remember. We were warned by others who have claimed to have gotten sick here. The biggest reason we came over competition like El Sombrero and Tequila Azul, is because we wanted to try something new. Also, online it states "Kids eat free, one child per adult entree". Waitress said they do not do that anymore, false advertisement. But okay, no big deal, the waitress was kind about it. Unfortunately, the food was terrible (and that's an understatement). Chips were stale, salsa was basically red water. Lukewarm beer. Kids burger was obviously microwaved and bottom bun hard as a rock, fries aren't anything to write home about. Even my other daughter questioned the beef on her burrito. Quite honestly, wish we all just went to Taco Bell, as their Cantina line is more authentic then this place. My wife couldn't finish her burrito and didn't even want to box the other half of it. My small overcooked shrimp at least didn't taste fishy. The only thing that was decent was the rice (even though it was overly salted, probably what saved it). Even if this place told me I could eat here free for a lifetime, I won't be returning. Stay clear of this business and I wish I would have reviewed their health department...
Read moreWe visited Fiesta Azteca today for lunch after seeing their large sign on Wickham Road advertising that kids eat free with adult entrées on Sundays. Our party included two adults and two kids, so this seemed like a great option.
We ordered two adult entrées (which were good), two kids’ meals, and queso dip with chips. While the food took a little longer to arrive, the queso and chips kept us occupied, and overall, the food was decent. For dessert, we tried the flan, which was also enjoyable.
However, when the bill arrived, we noticed the kids’ meals weren’t free as advertised. Upon questioning, the waitress informed us that the policy changed a few months ago, and now only one kids’ meal is free per table, regardless of the number of adult entrées purchased. This was incredibly disappointing, especially since we specifically chose Fiesta Azteca because of the free kids’ meals promotion. To make matters worse, there’s no mention of this limit on their sign, website, or social media. In fact, their social media encourages families to “bring the whole family and all the kids,” which feels misleading.
We left feeling frustrated by the lack of transparency. While we enjoyed the meal overall, the inaccurate advertising left a sour impression, hopefully others see this review before going based...
