It's a rarity when you get some time as a working mom to spend time out with friends. Out of all the places in Wellington that we've frequented we decided to try Francos again. The restaurant was packed. If you are not a party of 4 or more you get the tiniest of tables and maybe visited a couple of times. I saw the manager and owner walk by several tables asking them about their meal and their time. Mind you we had a nice server but then we had a different server. When I asked for another glass of wine...I waited for a bit only to find out she was holding my full glass while stopping at other tables. The food was tasty but for the price don't bother. I was truly disappointed with the appetizer of the portobello mushroom caps. There were two caps topped with crab meat. When you think of caps you think of seeing the ribs of the cap and it being fluffy. This was neither fluffy or presentable. The crabmeat was thrown on and the mushroom was chewy to cut. The price was 21.00 for the appetizer. Flagging someone down was half impossible. However, they didn't have an issue with handing out menus for their sister pizzeria location that just opened next door. And now that season is back and equestrian season is here once again...I would recommend elsewhere.

New ownership but immediately upon entering can tell Victor and the Italians are gone Used to be our favorite italian restaurant in Wellington Everyone in town who knows quality italian food agrees the food prep has gone way downhill Deep frying a thick piece of veal in tired fryer oil produces a slightly burnt piece of veal full of oil that oozes out as you cut it … yuk Any true italian knows that Veal Milanese should be pounded thin before it is lightly breaded then carefully stove top fried but this place deep fried a thick unpounded veal chop causing when cooked for the thick part closest to the bone to become over cooked and oily yet leaving the veal in places uncooked and still raw… see my pictures Another restsurant no no was the gent seating people and delivering food had a thick Smith Bros. type beard which until this recent beard craze would have been taboo in a restaurant allegedly serving an upscale menu…. Too bad because this was a good local go to for quality properly prepared italian food….Italians now know better than to eat at this place

Early dinner and was a bit disappointed. Wasn’t looking for a full meal. Just a glass of wine and a dinner item. Our waitress was on with service, but the food lacked what I was looking for. Taste and flavors! I ordered the special of the day. Chicken Rollatini filled with ricotta, spinach, and prosciutto. It came with Broccoli and Roasted potatoes and a brown sauce, that didn’t even help with the missing flavors. Being a special of the day, it missed its mark. The spinach was chopped in an odd way that didn’t help its cause. And the cheese was not its best either. To report on my wife’s dish which pushes this up to the 3 stars. She did say her Chicken Marsala was up to par. Would I come again? Probably not. The decor of the place is decent. Nothing to complain in that department. We will see, maybe I will have a change of heart.

Went there to celebrate my graduation from college with my boyfriend, sat down near the kitchen/POS system which was fine. At least, it was fine until we had to wait longer than normal times to either have our order taken, or to have our water refilled, or for our check. Having multiple staff (including our own waiter) walk by us with no attempt to tend to us, kind of dampened our mood, especially be sat closest to the area all the staff would typically gather, however it might have been busier than we thought. The worst part was when we went to pay - I decided to pay in cash, paying over the total by about $10 so we could tell them to keep the change and go home (we had about an hour drive ahead of us). Well, we're about to leave and our waiter stopped us and essentially told me I didn't leave a good enough tip for him to pay his bussers? I felt like I was guilted into giving more tip money, and if I didn't then the bussers wouldn't be paid bc of my choice, which is absolutely ridiculous to pin on two customers. Normally I'm not a stickler about tips, knowing that waiters/waitresses rely on them for their income, but that was probably the most awkward and borderline rude confrontation I've ever had at any restaurant, upscale and not. If it was required to leave over a 20% tip, it should state it on the receipt. I gave the waiter another $10, and left. I honestly regret doing so, as it is not my sole responsibility if you cannot pay your staff adequate wages, on top of subpar service and overpriced food. I'm glad I live over an hour away, so at least I won't even have a second thought...

I was so excited to take my husband to Franco’s for his birthday dinner. I had read many amazing reviews and we enjoy authentic Italian food. I thought it was going to be a perfect date night. We had 7:30pm reservations. We were seated immediately which was a great sign. We were told our server will be with us shortly. No problem. Two tables arrived after us and had bruschetta and drinks before our server ever came to our table. I really wish we had their server. Finally, she arrived. We ordered drinks and bruschetta. Literally, 10 minutes past and still nothing. The other table received salads now. I just wanted something to drink. The restaurant is not very big but yet, I couldn’t even find our server. Two more minutes go by and she arrives empty handed but needs to verify our drink order because the computers went down. I asked her how are others receiving drinks and food but we have nothing. She didn't answer me. We gave her our drink order again. We sat there for a few more minutes and decided to just leave. We walked past the manager who sat us. He thanked us for coming. I said, you just sat us 17 minutes ago, we’ve had terrible service, nothing to drink and it was an awful experience. He said nothing. The food really did look good and it did smelled amazing. Management really needs to observe their servers and tables more often. Again, it’s not very big. How did no one notice our terrible service with nothing on our table. I’ll drive a little further in town and go to Stresa...
