I would rather not even put 1 star as my review, but only because I am being forced to I will. With such an awful customer service experience I received from my purchased items in July of 2017, I will do my best to rate this store in the nicest way possible. I had 6 furniture exchanges in total with Ashley, four of them being from a dining table and 2 from the chairs that went with it. I have had a defective, scratched, damaged dining room table each time. The 3 out of the 8 chairs I had received from the first delivery had no problems, but then on the third exchange of a table, they were damaged due to the delivery people using 3 of them as a table to rest the leaf from the table and gauged them. I have called Ashley customer service department each time only to be told they can't do anything except I have the option of reselecting another table. Even the delivery person admitted to us that each table he has delivered to other customers has had a different defect on each one. I have been to 2 different Ashley showrooms and every dining table is poor quality and cheap and have also gone to City furniture and there was nothing of interest there. The service dept. told me I had to deal with the General Manager, Victoria who was the person I dealt with the first day of my interest in furniture at Ashley. She didn't want to deal with us from beginning to end. In July, the initial date of my purchase, Victoria was quick to cater to us, but when we returned the next day, she was not there and Sebastian helped us with the purchase. Now in September, I have spoken with Victoria to return the table and she transferred me to the customer service department, only to be transferred back again to Victoria so she could tell me "this isn't working out", as if she was tired of us. Every time I tried calling for her, she would either leave early because she had meetings the next day or have time off. I've never seen someone in an authorized position have so much time off and have poor customer service skills. Especially by not reaching out to a customer who has had an issue 6 times with their product. Definitely wouldn't have lasted at her position if I were her Supervisor or CEO of Ashley. She just pawned us off on the showroom manager Todd, who had just been transferred to that store. Todd was great in trying to accommodate us as much as possible. It has been a nightmare dealing with Ashley furniture and for that I am going elsewhere. Unfortunately, I still have to deal with them because I have a sectional that I purchased from them. Not to mention that I have had issues with the sectional one time already. Who knows how many more times this item will be a problem like the table and chairs. Our recent issue with the couch was because Sebastian told us that our seat cushions to the couch were machine washable when they aren't!!!!! This was the reason for the purchase, especially when I have young children. Good thing I called the warranty department so they could let me know what the care instructions were before listening to him. Educate your employees people!!! Don't just teach then customer service and selling skills, but don't teach them to lie to customers for a sale. I shouldn't receive a defective, damaged item when I purchase it, let me be the one to damage it over my own wear and tear. Overall, not what I expected from Ashley furniture after all the so-called great...
Read moreI wish I could give 0 stars. We originally spent a LOT of money on 2 new powered couches, a powered chair, a coffee table and a side table. The side table was a floor model that we took home that day as it was in good shape and a great discount (50%). That experience was actually a 5 star experience but Ashley has destroyed all good-will I had for them.
About two weeks after taking delivery of our new furniture we decided we needed another side table. I called up Ashley (I spoke to 2 stores) with the model number and ordered what turned out to be the last side table of that model available but they swore it was new in the warehouse. Upon delivery, the reality was quite different, see the photos attached. There is no way this wasn't a floor model they wrapped up and sold to me at full retail rate.
My ask was simple, I would accept it at the floor model price - with a young child it won't stay perfect forever - but I shouldn't be paying full price for this item as delivered. Ashley refused but offered to come repair it. Fine.
Well, their repair guy came today and was himself shocked at the shape the side table was in. He fixed the bigger issues but was unable to restore the side table to manufacturer specs. There are still numerous visible scratches on the side table.
Ashley still won't match the floor model price on this side table. At the end of the day they are giving me a partial refund but they refuse to honor that floor model pricing.
It's a shame because the additional $75 I'm asking for, as a matter of principle, that they refuse to honor, will guarantee we never spend another penny with Ashley, City, or any other affiliated furniture companies.
So, if you choose to shop at Ashley or City, go in knowing how poorly you will be treated and that they will absolutely try to sell you damaged goods and smile to your face while doing it. Then offer you a small pittance in return knowing they've already lined their pockets with...
Read moreAs I write this, I struggle with wasting any more of my time on my Ashley Furniture/City Furniture experience but I cannot in good conscience remain silent. Spoiler alert: I was sold furniture that was never delivered to me. Customer service was terrible and made a series of promises which nobody kept. Now I’m going to get into the details and depict the timeline of events that transpired, for those of you interested in continuing to read. For those of you who stop here, the conclusion is don’t spend a dollar of your money or a moment of your time with Ashley or City.
On September 3rd, my wife and I visited the Ashley Furniture HomeStore located at 10312 West Forest Hill Blvd, Wellington FL 33414. We were immediately greeted by Delaney Thomas. Delaney introduced herself and offered her assistance. My wife and I stated that we were going to look around and let her know if/when we needed help. After about an hour of walking throughout the store, carefully looking at each dining room table, sitting in each chair, spending our time making a decision, we found our new dinning room table! We called Delaney over and she was happy to write up our order. As I completed the credit application for the financing offered through Ashley, my wife picked out accessories to match our new set. Now we had a dining room table selected, 6 side chairs, 2 arm chairs, a matching buffet, a rug, lamps, vases; everything we needed to complete our dining room. While checking us out (which took another hour), Delaney explained that everything was available to be delivered right away except for the table and 6 chairs; she said they were all on backorder and would not be available for 2 weeks. “No problem”, we said; we’ve waiting this long, what’s another couple of weeks. We requested, however, for everything to be delivered at once. Simple enough so far, right? Well we...
