If you want to taste Greak flavors, do NOT go to this place! Well… Everything what we tried was flavorless here. Started with tzatziki salad and “Melitzano” salad (baked eggplant, etc). We got PLAIN greek salad with some small piece of cucumber slices, but definitely NOT A PROPER TZATZIKI SALAD! No salt, garlic or even dill what they supposed to mix in (even written in the menu). That was nothing but tasteless, plain yogurt. “Melotzano salad” was the same… Tasteless, something like grounded pieces with pita. No flavor at all. They don’t have falafel, so asked for veggie bowl and Greek salad after. No idea what was the difference between the two dishes, but we guess it was just the different plate… That means we received the totally same dishes just one in a bowl and the other one on a plate. The cheese, veggies were differently cuts, kne had 2 pieces of dolmades the other one some peas on it but nothing else was different (except the price).
There was a minimal communication from the waitress side and she was definitely not a friendly one but rather bored.
We did not want to order anything else and definitely a “no,...
Read moreThis was our first visit to Greektown Taverna. The food was delicious! We started with a sample plate. It had hummus, tzatzki sauce, and eggplant spread with tomatoes, cucumber and pita bread and stuffed grape leaves. The eggplant was the star of the plate!!! Tons of garlic in it. So so good! We tried the traditional gyro with fries and a side salad. The meat was thicker than usual and juicy and wonderful! We also ordered a Greek salad adding salmon and steak. The two extra proteins came on side plates and were cooked perfectly! Oh and we had the salmon blackened. Beware, the steak seemed to be a rib eye not a NY strip as it says on the menu. Service was great. The decor was nice. Only thing I wouldn't recommend was the baklava. The piece we got just seemed stale. Flavor was good. But it wasn't easy to get through the pastry layers. Also, they said they are only serving breakfast on Sunday now... But all day Sunday...
Read moreThis is the best authentic Greek food restaurant in Naples. We decided to try it on a friend's recommendation, and have loved it ever since. The traditionally-seasoned dishes are cooked to perfection, and I especially like the lamb platter and the flaming Saganaki. Oftentimes you find restaurants serving Greek food, only to realize the flavor is all wrong. Happy to say this is not the case here. Additionally, the prices are very reasonable. The staff is nice and attentive. I'd like to especially express my gratitude to Diana, who is forever attentive, but above all, helps with a genuine smile and treats us as family. She's such a pleasure to see, and one of the reasons we keep coming back. Diana is a multilingual gem, and an asset to the establishment. My parents and I always appreciate her. Last, but not least, the restaurant offers outdoor seating, which is much valued at...
