Grumpy's Restaurant — Restaurant in Florida

First of all the good, our server, Alex, was very good. Okay so with that out of the way this is our second time visiting grumpy's. The first time I did not do a review as they had just opened and didn't think it would be fair because it wasn't very good. We decided to give him another try, we're really disappointed. My tea was about 150% sugar and had a weird fishy taste to it. I asked Alex for some unsweet and he brought it to me and it also tasted fishy. I sent it back and got water and it was fine. My wife had a side of fried green tomatoes which was about an inch thick and hard as a plank of wood with no flavor whatsoever. Hash browns looked absolutely wonderful, nice and crispy on the outside however they were raw in the middle, cold and mushy, I know it just wasn't a one-off because mine were the same way. My eggs we're cold and the bacon was cold and limp. The rye toast was very good. So for a basic breakfast bacon eggs hash browns and toast, and a biscuit, order of hash browns and a side of fried green tomatoes 34 bucks plus a tip. A little pricey which I don't mind if it was good! Based on the other reviews I had high expectations. They were tempered by our first visit but the great reviews encouraged us to try it again. I can assure you we won't be encouraged in the future. They were pretty busy, but we walked right in and sat down at the counter which was available. They've got a really cool orange juice machine that they just throw in oranges and juice pops out. We sure wanted to like this place and we gave it a couple of chances but for right now they're completely...

I Came here this morning with my family for an early breakfast , as I do very frequently. Our server Ryan started off very nice, friendly & very attentive. Everything was going very well, food was delicious as always no complaints there. My morning took a turn after my server brought our tab out while still finishing our meals. Didn’t ask if we wanted anything to go or nothing. Brushed it off because we were full anyways, we paid our tab and we were packing our things to go. During this time Our server Ryan then approached our table accusing us of “STEALING” his pen he gave to sign the receipt. I personally signed the receipt and sat the pen on top of the receipt once I was finished and watched him come clear the table of dirty dishes and the pen but he never grabbed the receipt during that time. I showed Ryan the inside of my purse although I didn’t have too just to give him clarification that the pen was no longer in my possession and he continued to accuse us of a stolen pen. OF ALL THINGS A PEN ! I left him a tip that I then wanted to take back but I’m not that type of person. We sat on the outside patio where I saw a camera pointing directly at our table. I went and reported this incident to another co worker since the manager was not available for me to speak with them. Ive been here twice now. I figured id give them a chance as theyre a newly opened location but it seems the training and team communication is lacking which doesnt create the best guest experience.

The first time i went my food arrived hot and my moms BLT arrived about 20 minutes later without the bacon and the sandwich just looked slapped together. It seemed the kitchen was messed up as other tables around us were experiencing the similar issue or just getting the wrong food.

My second visit was this past weekend and it was a weird situation. I had ordered a side of biscuits n gravy and had been really looking forward to it. Only the gravy arrived so i had asked my waitress abiut the biscuits since i had ordered that and instead of fixing the issue or apoligizing she came back stating that i didnt order that and only ordered the gravy which was incorrect and not a good impression of customer service. I was looking forward to the biscuits and gravy before i walked through the door so why would i only order the gravy? She then brought biscuits and gravy for me to eat, but then charged me for the side of gravy we never asked for and it just sat there untouched.

Kind of unsure if id like to come back as i know other locations dont have these issues as i have been to them before. Its disappointing as i was really excited to see a location open close to home and have not had good...
