We had an early dinner at this restaurant on 6/28. The food was very good, we were a party of 6. The waitress brought out the capuccino on a expresso coffee saucer (not conducive to capuccino glasses) and it teetered ....and spilled all over onto the table and ME....in white pants and my red/white shirt!!! My husband had to go out to the car and bring in my suitcase with our dirty laundry so I can change my outfit (we were boarding the plane to go home later that evening out of Miami) and my daughter had to run out to get Spray and Wash so I can presoak my outfit because we all know how coffee stains. My legs and arms were sticky (from the coffee) and I had no other option but to change into my dirty clothes from my dirty laundry bag from earlier that week. Mind you, I am recovering from spinal surgery with limited mobility and had to change in the one stall bathroom while my husband held me up.
Someone claiming to be a 'manager' came and asked me if I got burned and I said no. Clearly the beverage was quite hot but luckily not boiling. I was just flabbergasted and upset. My daughter showed him the saucer and how it was not the correct size for the capuccino glass and explained how dangerous this could have been had the coffee been hotter or if I was a young child etc... He nodded and walked away. The waitress gave me the bill, took NOTHING off the bill and that was that. A $500.00 bill and nothing was taken off, not even the cappuccino! Very unprofessional!!! I didn't expect a free meal but they could have offered a free dessert as a courtesy. The hotel was not even able to find me any laundry spray or pre-wash so we had to go purchase. I have a brand new/once-worn, RUINED outfit; I smelled funky all the way home to TN on the plane and I experienced severe humiliation.
An unforgettable experience... good food but wanted to share this information about the staff and service to warn others. If you order a hot beverage,...

Gus’s Grille – Marriott Hotel
Personally I have many things to say about this place that I really don’t know where to begin. Let’s start with the breakfast buffet… Everything offered in this buffet was fresh, tasty, presented well, and perfect in every way.
That evening we could have gone to any of the number of restaurants in the area to dine but decided to dine at Gus’s. We ordered the New York Strip topped with French fried onions served with a blue cheese dip which added an amazing touch. The whole dinner came together well with a portion of mashed potatoes, broccoli which left us feeling very satisfied.
The next evening we decided to eat light where I ordered the Ahi Sesame seed Tuna and the wife had a single Crab cake. Both were well presented and delicious. We were then offered to try their Key Lime pie ‘on them’ which in all honesty totally won us over.
On our last night at the Marriott we dined once again at Gus’s Grille. This time I ordered an appetizer of the Conch Fritters followed by the New York Strip. As for the wife she had a salad and the steak as well. Truthfully everything here was an A + from start to finish. I’m a cook and I couldn’t ask for anything better.
As for the entire staff of employees from greeters to waiters to those preparing the food all made us feel we were at the top of their list with every visit. But one person especially made us feel so special making sure it couldn’t be no other way, that person was Olivia. She actually took time one evening to bring us both a cold bottle of water by bayside. Certainly a star in our book. Just...
Read moreThis was one of the worst experiences eating in my entire life. It legitimately felt like I was being pulled into a racket. My server, Simon, took over 45 minutes to bring me my check because he was preoccupied cleaning up the bar while he still had tables. I eventually had to walk up to him and ask him for it while he was behind the bar, and we ended up missing our Uber than we had scheduled over 30 minutes ahead of time. After going to ask him for the check, he came back with a weird check that had the signature and tip lines in it even before I gave them my card. He then came back with a weird check that $1.00 as the total, also with a signature and tip box, and upon questioning if that was my total he came back with a more normal-looking check. The manager, Andrew, was even less helpful. I went back in to bring up the issue, and he told Simon to open the check back up to try and compensate the issue, but after a few minutes of "trying" he told me there was was nothing he could do since the check had been closed. Simon started trying to hand me cash out of his wallet (which I did not take for obvious reasons), and the whole time while I was waiting one of other employees who I'd met earlier that night came over and started a conversation with me in what appeared to be an attempt to drop the issue. The entire thing seemed extremely orchestrated and rehearsed. If I could put less than one...
