Guthrie’s Chicken — Restaurant in Florida

So I live a few blocks away from Guthrie’s Chicken on Front Beach Road here in PCB and get food from them frequently… when they rolled out the big sign on the front by the road stating the chicken boxes with a drink for a certain price between 2-8pm daily I assumed if you go within that time period it should automatically be that price right? Well even though it’s not posted or disclosed on the sign, menu or anywhere for that matter that you have to ask for the daily special that is ran everyday or they will charge you full price even without drinks. I’ll be honest and say I’ve never asked for my receipt and as long as the total is close I haven’t bothered to pay attention. They told me it would be 5 min for the food so I asked for the receipt this time and when I looked at it and did the quick math I realized they charged full price without drinks. When I asked why I didn’t get the special or at least a deduction for not having the drinks she tells me well here’s the thing, if you don’t ask we just charge the full amount. If this is the daily special everyday between these time periods why isn’t it automatic? Why should I have to ask for you to honor what your big sign says? It doesn’t say ask about our lower priced chicken boxes between 2-8pm. Safe to say I will never give them business or send anyone their way again. False advertisement at its finest, they should probably change the verbiage on their sign before someone wants to get real petty and start a little class...

This place has went seriously down hill since Darren sold it i went at 11:15 today pulled up to the drive thru sat there for a minute or two got a generic greeting then silence for 5 minutes so I just went ahead and said my order then perfect silence for another 5 minutes normally this would be where I would drive away but no I said maybe they are having a bad day and then two to three minutes later an exasperated voice said are you going to order so I repeated my order and she gave me the total and I pulled around to the window she took my card and gave me my drink said under her breath she didn't have time for this and closed the window then handed me my card as if it was something gross or nasty and then gave me my food l. The prices online were not the same once we got here which is annoying but fine. Once we got there, the two young women at the counter just seemed lacking in charisma in that the answers to our questions were clipped and gave no additional information. When we got our Dr. Pepper, it was pure carbonation and I had to ask for a different drink which is understandable but a bit later when another customer came in, he had the same issue with his Dr. pepper. They weren't busy and had ample time to switch the soda out in the dispenser so that no one else had to drink that. Or just say that they are out of that drink. An ex employee was hanging around trying to flirt with the young women at the counter whom they didn't even know. At one point he even was doing their job for them by taking a wet wash rag and walking around and wiping the bottom of the booths that costumers weren't sitting in. Probably won't be going back...
