We visited with a reservation during the first week while they were in 'soft opening' status. Three adults and one child shared Combo B, which was a choice of 4 meats, with steamed egg, cheese corn, a soup, mandu (fried dumplings) and lettuce wraps for $90.
My kids tried a fruity boba drink each for around $7 each. They have the boba that 'pops' and the chewy kind. My kids ordered one of each but they both got the popping kind, no big deal.
The food was quite good. I've only been to one other Korean BBQ place and that was down in Gainesville. That place had a thing where you paid something like $40 per person and picked a couple meats and got all you could eat. This place is definitely not that. To be fair, that was also several years ago so idk if the other one even offers that these days with prices the way they are.
They brought the sides out, and the meat came out around 10-15 minutes later, which was kinda odd to us since we're the ones cooking it. No big deal.
They have a sauce/toppings bar type thing in the middle where you can go and load up a plate or little three-cup tray with your preferred seasoning. There are also a few different types of kimchi which is included with the meal and tasty.
We didn't try the hotpot, just the BBQ. If we wind up going back, we would probably just order individual meals, and maybe add a side of rice to make sure we're all nice and full, as a couple folks in our party we're still kinda hungry when we left. To be fair, they didn't really eat the steamed egg or the kimchi. The difference with the individual meals is that it appears to come with the meat and lettuce wraps, no sides. I think the lowest $ meat selection was the shrimp at around $14 for 7 head-on good sized shrimp. Most were around 17-20, the beef bulgolgi was 25 for the individual.
Obviously most folks aren't gonna go here often for a casual dinner, but it has good atmosphere, friendly staff, and great tasting Korean BBQ. We'll definitely be back if celebrating a special occasion, or maybe to try a hot pot selection. One thing to note, is that their menu states you need to select two meats in order to do the Korean BBQ, so you can't just go in solo and...
Read moreFirst and foremost, the atmosphere is wonderful. Very lively, very welcoming. Annnnddd that's about as good as it gets. I love Korean BBQs and Hotpots so my girlfriend and I have been waiting since July 2024 for this place to open. And boy, was it a let down. For those who may be inexperienced with Korean BBQ or Hotpot restaraunts, most places charge for the meats, while the veggies and side dishes are complimentary as part of your order with the Hotpot. Here, they nickle and dime every single ingredient. Lettuce? $5. Bak Choy? $5. Mushrooms? $4. Want a veggie platter with 4 ingredients? $15. Never have I ever been to a Hotpot that is this expensive. "Okay" I think to myself, "perhaps they're expensive because it's good." Surely the quality must justify the price. The meats are quality cuts, and the veggies were fresh, but mannnn $160 later??? For 2 people? I have been to several locations where the steepest we paid for the exact same amount of food was $70-$90 tops. And believe me, we were holding back. We skipped out on the quail eggs, regular eggs, Enok Mushrooms, Rice Noodles, Rice Cakes, and other staple ingredients because that would have tacked on another $40-$60. Unbelievable! I am well versed in the world of Korean BBQ and Hotpots and this place is wayyyy too expensive. It's double, if not TRIPLE the price of any other K-BBQ and/or HotPot. Our servers tried their best but man they did not explain ANYTHING to us. Being veterans in the K-BBQ world, this place stressed me out when it came to ordering. The menu was not clear and very misleading, and they made zero effort to clarify anything. Leaves a bitter taste in my mouth when you spend this much money and you don't even get what you wanted because their menu is horrendously confusing (again, coming from a seasoned K-BBQ / Hotpot foodie). Tis a shame because depsite our love for K-BBQ and Hotpots, we will not be coming back. The Boba however is fantastic. Highly...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to celebrate our 36th Anniversary at the PCB Korean BBQ and Hot Pot. I was stationed there a couple times in the 1990’s, so I was very excited to try this place out. The night went flawless; we were immediately greeted with smiling faces and welcoming attitudes. Once seated by our extremely friendly waiter (kick myself for not remembering his name), he immediately started telling us how the menu/cooking styles worked and made his own tasteful recommendations (which were spot on!). The protein choices were perfect, we cooked, laughed, and had a fabulous time (no alcohol involved, just happiness). Our waiter, as well as multiple other servers, to include the manager, checked on us routinely; just enough, not bothersome at all. And, we never saw the bottom of our glass, our beverages were filled at the perfect opportunities. The quality of the food (sliced, marinated, etc.) was top notch, a complaint could not be found. The self-serve sauce/spice bar was overwhelming but somehow perfect. Overall, I found the BBQ and Hot Pot to be a close resemblance of what I experienced in Korea (I ate a lot of KBBQ during my tours there). The cooking experience was the same but, the atmosphere, food quality, and professionalism of the staff resembled a high-end restaurant in a major U.S. city or top-tier restaurant on a cruise ship. I absolutely love that we have an authentic KBBQ restaurant here in our small town, but one that also goes above and beyond to make you feel like you’re dining with the wealthy (but at a fraction of the price). I really can’t say enough about our experience, they made us feel special and we left full while carrying out leftovers (which will be today’s lunch for two). Kudos to the owner, manager(s), and staff! We will be back soon, over and over again! If you’re reading this review then you must be interested, stop reading and get there as quick as you can for your next meal, you will...
