First, we believe in rating places when they do extremely well and have reviewed many restaurants in that manner. This is not the case with Gyroville in Kendall. I ordered a traditional pita and, when I received the order, the Ziki sauce was fermented and rancid. We were told that they could not make something new and could only replace with the same item, minus the sauce. We were informed that we could NOT pay the difference to order something else and they would NOT refund the money for the uneaten item. Getting the managed Angelina on the phone was an equally frustrating experience - she does not support her employees who kindly tried to resolve with us only to be told by her that they cannot resolve this. What self respecting restaurant and manager treats their customers like this? Very bad business, lack of common sense and business acumen on Angelina/managers part. You will lose many customers with your practices and we feel very sorry for your employees who want to do the right thing but are hindered by your poor customer service. We are very close with the health inspectors in Dade County and you should expect to have this reported accordingly. Shame on the manager who does not know how to manage her business, her employees, and most of all, her customers.
UPDATE/REPLY TO THE MANAGER'S RESPONSE (BELOW) Hello, you have an interesting take on the situation with your response to our review (given the fact that you were not present in the store), you need to check your facts. The pita that my husband ordered was with HONEY TZATZIKI, not the traditional TZATZIKI - so you are correct that my husband ate his because there was nothing wrong with his (and that point should have been proven in the fact that we WE DID NOT request a refund for his meal) - you can be sure that if the HONEY TZATZIKI was fermented on his meal, it would have also been returned. As the manager/owner, if you had checked your records and your receipts, you would have known that to be true. I took ONE bite of my pita with the traditional ziki sauce and THAT was the one that was fermented. The issue was that you failed to resolve the situation with this meal and would not refund the money for the unsatisfactory meal...and the only choice your store gave was to give us the same pita I ordered without the TZATZIKI sauce. You also DID NOT allow us to order something different and PAY the difference as we suggested as a solution. There was NOTHING that was given to us FREE as you state in your reply and, as a matter of fact, you refused to refund the money for an uneaten meal (save one bite which confirmed the sauce was fermented) and relegated us to be "made whole" by accepting a re-made pita (minus the sauce) that WE ALREADY PAID FOR (please see the attached photo of the receipt for our meal FOR WHICH WE PAID - AGAIN, NOTHING WAS GIVEN TO US FREE AS YOU CLAIM! By all means, continue with your "good work" but I would direct you to review your other reviews that are public on Google where you have numerous customers also calling out the management/owner of the establishment. Your employees were professional and kind to us and they were treated the same way. We wish you well in your future endeavors and it is our hope that you strive to treat your customers better. Ironically, you have a Google review sign in front of your register rewarding customers with a free cookie if they leave a positive review. I guess you cannot handle reviews that are less than positive and use them as an opportunity to improve versus deflecting and handling your customers in a poor unprofessional way - incredible that all this was caused by poor business management for a 10 dollar meal that could easily be resolved. You are more interested in fighting with customers than doing the smart and decent thing. WE WERE NOT ASKING FOR ANYTHING FREE AND PAID FOR EVERYTHING. I hope you take care of your kitchen before someone...
Read moreStopped by on my work lunch break. Ordered the mixed grill pita combo to go.. Got it with a side of falafel and their hummus. No one was in front of me or waiting so the young man got right to prepping my order. It's "subway style" service, i call it. They have everything atop their counter, behind glass so you can point and pick your toppings. Everything is done out in the open in front of you. The place appeared clean and the employees had gloves and masks (this is during the covid bs). The whole meal was delicious. The portion was just right. Filled me up perfectly! Their hummus is unique. Taste is zesty and compliments the falafel very nicely. Consistency is not like store bought hummus, their's is a bit more like a dipping sauce. Not in a bad way at all. Not a negative either, just a heads up, they do load up your gyro like to the max! So it can get messy. But the pita bread is firm and durable so it won't fall apart. Not a critique, just might not want to eat them in front of someone your not yet comfortable around. In order to enjoy it, you will need to get down and dirty! All in all, i don't frequently eat out for my lunch break, but when i do now i know i have this semi- healthier option. Way better than picking up a greasy soggy burger from a drive thru window where you have no idea when or by whom it was made. Thanks...
Read moreMy wife just had the most ridiculous argument with a woman who claimed to be the lunch time "manager" but had no idea how to charge extra for diced onions on a Patty melt sandwich. Then told she was not allowed to add that to her sandwich, to ultimately getting charged $2.50 for an extra pita in place of the onion charge for the onions. She agreed since she was ordering a second melt the same way. Things went worse when She realized that the "manager" was going to charge her $2.50 twice to spinkle red onions on the melts for a total of $5 for a little bit of red onions. After driving from Homestead to the Kendall location just to eat here my wife ended up leaving with out anything. All of this because the "manager" was not trained to add charges for condiments or know how to deal simple situations. Losing out on a $60+ order because of poor people skills is bad management. That was only 2 orders that were going to be eaten there and she was to bring extra 3 gyro platters after for take out...as u can see in the replay the great people skills IN ALL CAPS! Also. did you just refer to yourself in the 3rd person as a valid reply? The owner should be ashamed an embarrassed with his/her management. We've also been to this location numerous times and my wife orders the sandwich the same way every time and we've never had a...
