We stumbled upon this place thinking it was more of a fast food joint, but we were pleasantly surprised. From the outside you donât expect the quality that youâre going to get in the food. We ordered manchego croquettes for appetizers. I wasnât crazy about them but my husband loved them. They did not taste very cheesy and had a slight smoked flavor. We also ordered the two pound picada platter which included Picanha, churrasco, lomo, and chorizo. We also ordered a side of garlic rice and feijoada (Brazilian black beans), and three lamb chops. The food was cooked to perfection-medium was truly medium! Unlike many of the Brazilian places weâve visited, the meats were slightly low in salt but still delicious. While I am not a big eater, we still had a ton of leftover meat. The drinks were good. We ordered the Maracuya (passion fruit) mojito and lychee martini. Pros: This is a fabulous place if you want quality meats at a decent price. This is not going to break your wallet. The waitress Natalie was pleasant and knowledgeable. Cons: I wasnât sure the croquettes were cheese as they sell others and told the waitress. She asked if it was OK for her to take a bite out of one to confirm. It was a bit awkward. Additionally, she asked us to write a review. I was happy to do so as I liked the quality of the meats, and began writing the review as we paid for the check. Once she returned with the credit card, approximately three minutes later the manager came up to us and asked us if we were done because he needed the table. Needless to say, it felt as if once they had their bill paid they wanted to rush us out. I understand the place was full, but I think a three minute wait didnât warrant being asked to leave. In the end, we enjoyed the food, but would recommend that management think a little bit about the way they handle their customers. They werenât rude, just tactless. We spent a total of $105...
Read moreMy choice of El Toro Loco Churrascaria provided a satisfying experience for lunch, especially if you're a meat lover. The restaurant's ranchero theme, complete with cowhide seats, adds a unique flair to the atmosphere, and the clean interior with adequate air conditioning offers a much-needed escape from the Miami heat.
Starting off with drinks, I tried the Caipiroska, a Brazilian cocktail that was both zesty and strong, perfect for kicking off the meal. I enjoyed it so much that I had two before moving on to an Old Fashioned. The Old Fashioned was classic, smooth, and strong, living up to expectations. However, the limited availability of other cocktails on the menu was a bit of a letdown.
For entrees, I went straight for the Wagyu Picanha, cooked to medium. This dish was the star of the meal, juicy, succulent, and seasoned to perfection. It was so good that I almost ordered another on the spot. The Churrasco Fajitas were another highlight, offering a generous portion of meat with tortillas so delicious that we asked for extras to make tacos. The Churrasco sandwich, while decent, fell short of the other dishes. The sandwich was loaded with meat, flavor was great and tender juices gushing out with every bite, the fries that came with it were crispy and well-seasoned as well.
To finish off, I had the churros for dessert. They were a hit, not too sweet, with a great portion size that capped off the meal nicely.
Overall, El Toro Loco Churrascaria is well worth a visit, particularly for those who appreciate quality meats. Despite the limited cocktail options, the stellar entrees and enjoyable atmosphere make this spot a strong recommendation if you're in the...
Read moreI come here often. Good value and good food, generally. Unless⊠⊠you order Filet Mignon. They cannot get their meat right!!! Last week I ordered it and it came - after a long wait - rare. Sent it back and called the manager to politely inform him that some days prior I also ordered this and had gotten it overcooked⊠but just ate it.
The manager apologized and told me he had âa problem in the kitchenâ. After 20 minutes I got the meat back, and it was about right.
So, they see me come in today - staff goes into full alert mode - and I order⊠Filet Mignon, medium. Even joked with the waiter about getting it right this time. A half hour laterâŠ. You guessed it, it came well done. So, back it went!! The manager came over, acknowledged the mistake and offered to get it right within 5 minutes. 20 minutes later, I got it⊠medium rare. This time with an explanation that the manager himself had cooked it so it could not be wrong. I requested his presence again and the man had the chutzpah to tell me that according to his meat thermometer my steak was medium. (See for yourself)
Although he took it out of the bill I got aggravated when I went back after paying to show him the picture you are seeing, and he said I was wrong because his thermometer was right.
Guys, this is a meat restaurant. If they cannot get meat right, something is wrong!!! And itâs not your repeat customer!!!
So be wary of this place. Lots of potential but they need changes in the kitchen and at the top. Hope they get the messageâŠ
By the way, do Not order chicken fajitas, either. Horrible tortillas, and the chicken was hard and chewy. Just stick to the...
