Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream Shop — Restaurant in Florida

As locals, my daughter and I brought four out-of-town guests to the only ice cream shop in Sumter Landing, expecting a warm, community-oriented experience. However, my daughter stayed outside due to personal reasons and a prior acquaintance with a staff member. As our group entered, we witnessed three employees gather at the window, pointing and laughing at her as she approached the porch. She saw this, became deeply upset, and retreated around the corner. As her father, I went to comfort her, feeling heartbroken by her distress. I tried addressing the employees but was too upset to articulate clearly. They claimed they were laughing at an employee outside, but my daughter was the only person there, making their excuse implausible. This unprofessional and cruel behavior was shocking, especially at Sumter Landing’s only ice cream shop, where locals and tourists should feel welcomed, not humiliated. Our guests were appalled, and after discussing, we felt compelled to share this review. The incident tainted our effort to showcase the community’s charm. This service from the supervisor on 7/2/22 around 6:20pm was horrendous. She had brown hair and glasses. She was disrespectful to the people in front of us arguing with him over a coffee milkshake as he tried to order, to us, and to the workers quite frankly. Literally raised her voice, had a rude tone, and interrupted. Just to be clear, we came in as a group of 5, but had 3 different payment groups. When the GROUP in front of us tried to pay, they were told they had to wait. They then let the group behind us pay first. The second GROUP that was separate from us was allowed to pay. Which she did after receiving her single scoop of ice cream. Whether it’s policy or not to help one “group” at a time, to be disrespected and have someone speak to us with a raised voice as she rolls her eyes? Unbelievable. How simple to explain that? I would be ashamed if I ran this place that my initial interaction was this and then my response to the disrespect was in fact more disrespectful. I will definitely never recommend anyone come here. Bad service from the employees, I was very enthusiastic about my mother who came to visit Florida for the first time and there were 3 employees and no one asked us what we wanted, We visited the store July 13 2021 at 8:30 pm, I had to ask one of them if i need to take because nobody ask us "How can I help you". They attended and he said no, then he attended me without much interest, and I asked for an ice cream with 4 scoops and at no time did he tell me that the adicional scoop cost almost 4 dollars, I asked him to explain why I paid almost $ 20 for 2 ice creams and he answered me that he did not set the prices. Then the other 2 employees met with him to talk about my situation. That looked very ugly, it's supposed that the employers not talked about the customers and less in front of them.
