New review! Rate 8 Revisited today the brunch at Red Sauce. It was by manager invitation due to my extremely poor review in May. I did notice a considerable increase in cost. $24.99 per person. Realistic for what the price of food is these days though.
Today was a complete 180 to what we experienced a few time previously. Granted not as busy yet, but I must say total improvement. Service was excellent.
*Food was hot, omelettes were excellent, liked how they moved the meat station over.
*This time I found food items fuller and not waiting for them to fill trays.
*Overall quality of food very good. I tried to take something of everything.
*Love the new flooring. Decor much better now. I hear more changes are coming. Excited to see!
Just a couple things I wish they would modify to have perfection.
People should never wait for plates, especially when not as busy since not snow bird season yet.
I know roast beef is a difficult item for a brunch. But it was over cooked, dry and tough. I wish they would cook it less and leave in some juices while they wait to serve. I did hear other tables stating this too.
Didn’t try the ham. Looked dry. Had been sitting for a bit.
I would recommend moving the shrimp from the main walk area. Too crowded on that corner and it’s an open dish item. I know I might be picky. But I don’t like eating food that could have a lot of germs or other things as it’s too close to walk way. Especially seafood items.
Deserts not for me. Not the most tasteful. Seems like an afterthought. However, suggestion to at least have a place card to state what they are. Some people could be allergic to certain items. Would be nice to know what you can choose.
Granted the griddle to make French toast or pancakes was hotter today. I still don’t understand why it’s not commercial grade? When it gets super busy takes awhile to cook and could cause backups or less quality food.
These items I bring up are so minor in comparison to what I posted before. But I wanted to provide a full and honest review.
Thank you Red Sauce management and staff. We will be back. I would like to go during busy season to see if this can be maintained.
Old review!!!!
This is the 3rd time I have gone to brunch. Out of 1-10
Food quality is a 2 Warmth of food is a 2 Waiting on items to be refilled is a 1 Service from wait staff is a 4 Only item good was made to order omelets and hardly a wait is a 5. Horrible cutting board items. Dried out, chewy beef inedible. Ham was over cooked and cold. Today they were to have lamb. Went at 12 and ran out. Someone said was dry and over cooked. Didn’t miss anything. Waffles, French toast and pancakes. Should just not offer if you can’t afford to get right equipment. The grill doesn’t get hot enough to cook them. The waffles maker takes forever to give soggy lumpy waffles. Deserts awful. Poor quality from cake to cookies. At least offer flavorable deserts. Area is dirty and not kept clean. Staff needs to keep good areas wiped down. Biscuits provided with frozen center. Sausage gravy cold. Bacon is awful. They dumped in new bacon all greasy, half raw and cold. Management….no site of them helping. Just standing around bar. Need to get on staff, clean up. Help team and check standards. Constantly! Dishes constantly out and come back chipped and dirty. No desert dishes. Bar glasses dirty. Saw bar tender take 10 down off rack to rewash. Staff running French toast etc station. I have set. Many times. Same person. No standards. Area is dirty. Never wipes up. Apples, strawberries to put on items gross. Need to clean constantly. People leaning on area. Unsanitary! Lettuce was empty for over 20 minutes today at last. Such a simple item to keep full. Floor dirty and yes each time.
Bottom line. No quality standards and this brunch is hurting the restaurant. Close it down.
I hope you take this review to heart and do something! Just because you have been in The Villages along time, doesn’t mean changes...
Read moreWe were excited to go here as we have heard many good things. Being gluten free and dairy free it can be difficult to eat around the villages unless it is salad. The food was very good. But the communication on service was just ok. Our server was very kind and We had told her we had never been there before. And then when I was asking questions about the menu because of the gluten-free part, she was great answering the questions. But when we ordered, it was like she completely forgot about the gluten free stuff which has fine, it happens, though it wasn't busy. It was 4 o'clock so there wasn't a lot of people there. So I ordered the chicken parmesan and ask for gluten-free. And then I asked about my sides, she gave me all the sides and I kinda gave her a look like which ones are those are gluten-free? Because I know they have a gluten, free pasta. And she said well, I would go with double veggies. And I'm like, but don't you have a gluten free pasta? And she said, oh yeah, and I'm like I'll just take that then. OK, that's fine then because I'm dairy free. I asked about the mozzarella on the chicken if I could substitute goat cheese and she said yes, perfect, and it came and it was phenomenal so good, but when I got the bill, it was a $4 Up charge for the goat cheese. It was not on the menu anywhere. It was not communicated no details about it. So that's where I lack because it would have been nice to have that communication so I was aware before I got my bill. Plus when the chicken came the grill marks were burnt marks so, the chicken had a really bad burnt taste to it and she first stopped by and asked about how everything was and I said, "honestly, I haven't had a chance. I thought I tasted burtness. But we've been talking". And she was well I'll come back and then she never came back. She never filled my water. She never did anything. She had tables right next to us and acted like we weren't even there until our food was gone and I had a brg her for more water. My husband had the pizza and he loved it. And I loved my meal other than the burnt chicken taste. Which I could flip the chicken over to hide that. Next time I'll say watch how you cook it. Because it was super thin there was no need to burn it the way they did. It just I can't give them higher stars because of this lack of communication. Plus we saw a manager displining someone in front of everyone that...
Read moreADDITIONAL REVIEW: July 21, 2022 THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE Just OK We dined at Red Sauce twice this week and the contrasting experiences were interesting. First the good: We sat at the bar hoping for a better experience than earlier in the week - and it was! Terri, immediately greeted us and took our order, provided the customary "set up" and brought water. Soon after our food arrived. Later she inquired if it was satisfactory and refreshed my dinner companion's ice tea; All the while friendly and attentive. When we asked for the check, she inquired if a box was needed and promptly produced one and placed the leftovers in the box. Terri was handling multiple customers but gave us prompt, friendly attention and follow through. Excellent server and good experience!! Now the bad: We sat in the dinning room where Cahiara was our server. We were greeted friendly enough and placed our orders. Much time passed and finally the meals arrived. My dish eggplant rollatini was cold---wanting it warmed I looked for our server who was not to be found. Finally after a while I took it to the kitchen window, where a server I knew promptly took it, apologized and I returned to my seat. A bit later Cahiara returned with the warmed plate (my companion was almost finished with his meal, so I asked for a box. She returned and dropped it on the table. I asked for our check, which took a while to obtain. Never, did we get water refills, or asked if our meal was satisfactory. We watched as she entertained a table of 8 - boxed their remaining pizza and brought their check quickly. This was worst service I've had in the 10 years as a customer of this restaurant. The manager did follow up with me, apologized for our bad experience and offered coupons as a consolation. I learned Cahiara is a manager there as well as a server -...
