We arrived at about 9:40pm on Saturday April 29th – the posted hours indicated a closing time of 10:00pm. Upon walking through the door, we were greeted by the pungent smell of cleaning fluid and the sight a freshly mopped floor—one could easily presuppose the mopping began much earlier because floors do not instantly appear glistening clean.
The nice lady cheerfully told us that the kitchen was still open, and we were allowed, even encouraged, to place a takeout order – after all, a restaurant is in business to make money. However, our physical presence was not desired, nor permitted.
It would be our assumption that the freshly cleaned floors, and “no seating guests” policy before closing time is a strong indication that the staff is considerably more interested in going home, as opposed to serving customers. As such, we will happily oblige. Going forward, this family of regulars will never, ever spend another dollar here. It’s best to know when you are not wanted.
It is worth noting that there are restaurants in the area that will seat up until, and including, closing time. This is proper courtesy for the customer and is considered the correct way to operate a restaurant. The correct way would be to post hours 9am...
Read moreTook the kids here for a Sunday lunch around 1pm. The last time we ate here for dinner, there was about a 15 minute wait but this time there were plenty of open tables and we were seated right away.
For 4 people, we ordered quite a bit. Appetizers included Age Dashi Tofu, Steamed Pork Gyoza, Oyster Tempura, and a 5 piece Sashimi Appetizer plate. After that, the girls shared the Sushi and Sashimi Combo while my son ordered the House Fried Rice with Beef Teriyaki. I ordered the Daily Special - The Godzilla Roll.
The Good — Service was fast. Oyster Tempura was basically fried oysters but they were yummy.
The Not So Good — The fish wasn't bad. It just wasn't as fresh as I would have hoped. Although we asked for Beef Teriyaki, they actually brought us Chicken Teriyaki instead. (I decided not to say anything.) The sushi that came with the combo platter was pretty spicy. The girls didn't touch it so I ended up eating it. The fried rice was on the greasy side. Prices weren't expensive, but not sure it was worth it for the quality.
All in all, I'd still eat there again. Would try other dishes...maybe the...
Read moreThis used to be our go to place but this is no longer the case. I really like one of the owners (Jason, believe) but when he is not there ordering is always a hassle. It seems like every time you go there the menu changes (price increase) and now they no longer honor their free Krab Rangoon type coupons. Even when they did, every single time you used on for an online order they claimed to "forget" if he wasn't there, so you had to wait around for them to take it off the bill. The food is decent to good in our experience, but just hasn't seemed as consistent as it used to be. A few years ago we ordered to go there every two weeks for about $40 like clockwork and now we were down to about every 5 to 6 weeks. Yesterday was just under $75.00 for 3 dinner entrees, two small soups and Krab Rangoon. I am well aware of global inflation, but it is more noticeable here than some other places like Jenks or Bonos in our opinion. Sorry, but you folks have worn us out with all of the changes and hassles and we are on the hunt for a new favorite place. I doubt...
