I am big on reviews so when I saw 4.8 stars I jump to the occasion. My hubby was hesitant but I try to support our city because we need more restaurants with good food. Tonight I was disappointed greatly!!! My husband ordered the griyo- the pork was raw! Can we say food poisoning!!!! I ordered oxtails... look like they been sitting for days. Dryer than paper. They took what they called sauce which was a bunch of oil and poured it all over the oxtail but the inside of that tough meat don't lie. One comment said it was tender and savory! That comment took me. And lastly, my son had the fried chicken wings. I said fried chicken and nothing on it. Box was filled with pepper and onions all over the chicken. Ok- no big deal but big deal. Then for the bite... soggy skin. I just ordered it- we live like 2 minutes- there was no way it could be that soggy that fast. The fries had zero salt, the rice had zero taste and zero salt as well. Plantains per my husband was good. Fries as unseasonably as they were was good. Very disappointed. We spent 43.00 and everything went...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is good well seasoned Haitian šš¹ food. The price is reasonable and the portions are very nice. My first experience I ordered, Griot Complete which included rice, plantains, and macaroni. I also ordered Pate Kode and passion fruit juice. The food was very good. The griot was cooked to perfection... and it wasn't hard or dried out. I wanted to keep eating. The service was fantastic. The young lady working the front I assume to be the owner was very friendly and made me feel so welcomed and appreciated as a customer. She also thanked me for my order. The pickliz was good. It wasn't too spicy, it had a nice balance of heat. My only suggestion would be with the griot complete maybe offer a different side like maybe a cucumber salad or regular salad instead of Macaroni as an option. Other than that.... great place. I'll definitely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMeal was lovely. Went later at night to get two fried turkey dinners and wanted to try the pate kode as I heard it was tasty. Loved the turkey meal and the extra onion and pepper garnish, only thing disliked a little was that the turkey was cut thicker so some bigger pieces didn't seemed cooked as well. But there's a large portion which I love. Ran into a problem with the pate kode where we specifically asked for chicken instead of fish filling (they said they could definitely do it) , but it was fish once we bit into it unfortunately. The crust was yummy at least! The guy at the front was nice and we waited for a while but the lobby is nice with a tv.
+1 star update for...
