Local Fare Jax — Local services in Fruit Cove

There are some great things about this company and the service they provide, but the things they get wrong, they get VERY wrong. Local fare claims you can choose from 16 different products each month, but that is not true. There is no place on their site that tells what the options are for the upcoming service. You can choose to add on items, but that is not the claim they make. I submitted an email asking how I could select the products I wanted to receive each month, but got nothing. I don't care for some of the items that came in previous deliveries, and with no way of customizing my order, I canceled my subscription. You can imagine my surprise when I was charged the next month and got a message that my next order would arrive soon. I noticed that others who had cancelled subscriptions mysteriously had their subscriptions reinstated. This is fraudulent. I attempted to cancel my subscription again, but found that THERE IS NO WAY TO CANCEL on their website, and Local Fare is in no hurry to respond to messages asking for help about cancelling. I ended up calling my credit card company and filing a fraudulent charge. I sincerely wish Local Fare provided customers with the ability to select the items, because that's a service I would pay for. I wish team members responded to questions and concerns from customers. Our neighbor introduced us to Local Fare Jax, a local produce delivery service, which has been a great solution to our struggle of finding fresh local fruits and vegetables in our area. We opted for the Rancher XL and Standard boxes, which contain meat and vegetables with bread, respectively, and receive them twice a month. While we have tried CSA's in the past, we have had mixed experiences with some vegetables being excessively dirty and infested with bugs or worms, and the meat having an off taste. Having previously purchased whole cows and gotten pigs and chickens from farms, we have a good understanding of what fresh food should taste like. However, with Local Fare Jax, we have been continuously impressed with the exceptional quality of both the meat and produce. We have never been disappointed with anything we have received, and everything has been unbelievably fresh and delicious. We wholeheartedly recommend Local Fare Jax to everyone. Their delivery personnel are easy to work with, and the app and text communication features are excellent, enabling us to track the delivery truck's distance from our house and receive timely reminders. Not worth the money. Got a hand full of blueberries- not even a pint, 3 ears of old corn. Silk was brown and husks were dry, 4 unripened tomatoes- 1 would have been sold as a green tomato. Bib lettuce was tiny. Cancelled. Follow up to response… Someone from your company did talk to me. I explained that I expected high quality vegetables but what I got was tomatoes that don’t smell like tomatoes- I could have gotten better quality from Publix. 3 ears of corn that are old and 1/2 cup of blueberries. The veggies may have been grown locally but they are either grown by commercial farms or you really need to address your standards. The box is advertised as enough for a 2-3 person household.. maybe a household not accustomed to eating veggies. Blueberries were enough for 1 breakfast. Tomatoes are on the ledge hopefully they will ripen. Corn will likely end up in corn bread as it is so old. The website doesn’t allow me to remove my credit card nor cancel.
