Looking for the cliche Florida coastal crab boil restaurant. Hurrican Patty's filled the need - as if it came out of a movie. It's off the road, on the marina docking bay = picture perfect.

They're open later than other places, which was mainly what we were looking for. Shop owners eat later than the tourists. #facts

We walked around the venue before entering and loved the entire water "bay vibe". The restaurant has a wrap around walking dock / deck with an outside bar, table seating, and live music all on the backside.

On the front side of the venue is the entrance, and an outdoor table seating patio. Upon entering, you have to wait to be seated by the hostess.

This has a very Joe's Crab Shack meets pirates ambiance without the "restaurant chain" feel.

Our service was quick, semi friendly, and to the point. Our server gal took care of us, had a smile, but was not hovering - and that's what we expected. A total cliche server experience.

The "Painkiller" drink I ordered was stiff and DARN yummy! The price was right, not over priced. I would have preferred a top shelf rum and no ice. Next time I'll ask.

They have the crab boil special on Saturdays.

I didn't know about the social when I chose this venue for our food adventure Night. The price was great as we happened to go on a Saturday. I also pre-gamed signed up for their email list on their website and got a coupon for a shrimp appetizer emailed to me. Woop!

I've never had anything "oyster" before. (Being from Vegas, it's not something you order when there... I would recommend it.) We ordered the oyster sampler. We also ordered the shrimp and grits for next day breakfast / lunch. Sunday chill day pre-gaming.!

The shrimp appetizer was buttery and light. It's a perfect starter for two. I recommend it.

The oysters were steamed well, but I wasn't a fan of ALL the flavors on platter. The oyster and lobster was so F-ing good. I'd order just that next time.

The crab bucket was on point. YES! I would prefer more seasoning, but I'm not mad at it. This is large enough to share. Great for 2 people if you have an appetizer.

The shrimp and grits were darn good.

I felt the grits were a little undercooked, but I didn't mind because the next day I heated them up in a pot with some milk and butter and they were bomb AF!!!!!!

I can imagine, though, people WOULD complain "the grits are undercooked".

I took home the sausage from my crab boil. Sliced them up and cook them the next day - adding them to my grits for a PERFECT no cook Sunday meal. Nom nom.

I would highly recommend h Hurricane Patty's as a venue to take people to, especially on a Friday or Saturday evening when there is live music outside.

The prices were very reasonable.

Don't expect five star service. Expect your meal served to you - you might get a smile. I'm okay with that because, it's a Marina restaurant... Up in the cut.

The food IS surprisingly good. The atmosphere is awesome! I would imagine dinner at sunset would be very chill and romantic.

We visited on Jan 30, 21 - and this had to be one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. We arrived, the hostess seated us in a corner booth. 15 minutes later we still did not have a server shown up at our table. I got up to walk to the bar to get us a drink, and on the way there I stopped and asked the hostess where was our server - deer in the headlight look - second time we have not had a server to our table and pointed to the table. I retrieved drinks from the bar and brought them back to the table, and asked my wife if we had a server - nope. We stated drinking our drinks, 5 minutes past and my wife got up this time and went to the hostess stand and asked about our server, and again this dazed look. I told her lets finish our drinks and leave. Just as we are about to leave a server Melanie T shows up, and states "one of the hostess came and got me in the kitchen, said you needed a server at the table" I was ready to leave, my wife talked me into staying and so we did - the server promised to make it up to us - okay. So we ordered our food, waited and waited for food - ordered more drinks, of which my came with and was not good. I finally caught the server again, and stated either the tonic was flat or the bartender/you placed the order wrong. She states well we have a new bartender, and my wife needed another so she brought us more - I assumed she was going to take my bad one. Instead she just placed another one and charged us for it - since we could not get her attention after the bill was dropped off, I just took the drink $ from her tip. We had to wait forever for the food, which was just okay - really more like typical bar food. The place is dirty, the staff is unprofessional, the hostess are completely clueless/brain dead. The ironic thing is the closing ticket was printed at 5:09 PM - I would hate to see what a cluster this place would be during the busy dinner hour. Our bottom line is that we will never go there again, will warn people to not visit - there are far too many great places with better food, service and drinks in St. Augustine that is...

The food prices at this place have gone up so much that it was already getting out of hand. But now they have changed their products and their menu. We used to order from here on a regular basis because we loved the meat loaf and pot roast. Both are gone now. We also ordered the fish bites, which used to be nice chucks of fish now they are tiny pieces of fish, i mean like bean sized pieces that have no flavor . But the wings? We bragged about them being the best spot in St Aug for wings. Now they tiny wings and the flavor of the sauces and the dipping sauces has changed. They have clearly changed to a lower cost/quality food vendor and it’s unacceptable for the prices they are charging. This place isn’t on the water, it’s on a drainage canal, at least that’s what it smells like if you even consider eating outside. This was always a very stinky outdated nasty place to go eat at, sl we usually Grubhub it now, but they did have damn good food. Now there’s absolutely no reason to ever go back. I hate it for you Hurricanes. No pot roast or meatloaf anymore? You stopped catering to your regulars. The only way I can see any kind of future success is if you tear that disgusting restaurant down to the ground and build something fancy and then you can continue to serve the crappy new food that you have at the ridiculously high prices you are charging. You will at least have an atmosphere that people want to go to because now? Your food is overpriced and no where near as good as it used to be.

Also…. Update your damn online menus for Grubhub and DoorDash! My driver showed up on time and then you had them call me to let me know you no longer have the meatloaf or pot roast. You made that valuable worker have to wait to get my new order placed. out of all the things I’ve said tonight? That’s the most disrespectful and unprofessional things of my entire...

We walked over from the Sabastian Hotel and when we arrived at the restaurant, (3/4 empty) we didn't have a reservation, so we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table to be available. (Ok) The family behind us in line, felt otherwise and left immediately. We ordered our drinks and we had nacho's ($11.95) My Daughter ordered the Gut buster $13.95 (picture below) and a virgin daiquiri (picture) My Spouse ordered the Roast beef $15.95 and a libration cocktail. I had the Fish and Chips $16.95 and two of the Pusser's drinks. Total bill $149 (Sticker shock 😲) My drinks cost more than my food? The Gut buster was way to much food, hence the name, but my daughter really wanted to try it. (She works at Culver's) She thought it was bland in taste, especially with all those flavors going on. My spouse ate everything on her plate BUT the Roast beef, which had an unpleasant taste to her. To me it tasted like a warehouse (Sam's/Costco) hunk of roast beef (pre-cooked) to slice up for lunch meat. However it tasted like it sat way to long in the fridge and since it's not pungent yet, they will just cover it with GRAVY thinking that will hide the flavor. (I use to buy the roast beef from the warehouses. You never forget the flavor of bad Roast beef.) My fish and Chips however was excellent. To the Restaurant: I suggest you stick with the fish and burgers. The Gut buster is fixable. Keep a price list on the table for your drinks so people don't have sticker shock. However It's 100% illegal to knowingly sell bad meat regardless of how much GRAVY you cover it. It's with your intent to maliciously deceive (had to smell coming out of the fridge) that we will never come back to your restaurant ever again.

Food looked amazing but missed the mark on so many levels. Clam chowder had a lot of clams & potatoes but was not creamy. Was oily and over peppered. Not edible. Shrimp Alfredo was fair, again oily and not as creamy as it should be. Taste was good. Hubby had Granny’s meatloaf. Again, looked amazing but was dry and cold….would have sent back if he had shared that it was cold prior to eating at least half of it because he was so hungry. I had the crab broil. Can’t mess up crab, right? It was okay….definitely water logged (water pouring out each time a leg was cracked). Taste was average. Now let’s talk about service. We had a reservation and were seated immediately (arrived at 6:50 for our 7:15 reservation) which was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant being less than half empty at peak dinner time should have been our first clue though. We waited nearly 15 minutes before we were greeted by our server, April…..we should have jumped ship then. We ordered soups and appetizers. We finished the appetizer before the soups even hit the table. Seemed like April kept forgetting them. Maybe we will have a better experience next time.
