First let me say that I am Active Duty military and sought a single night getaway for my wife and I during our family vacation. We generally elect to go to a B&B with great success in the past. I am torn with this review because the staff did take care of us. They upgraded our room when they discovered I was military, which I very much appreciated. That said, we stayed in the Prosperity room (I believe that was the name) which is located in the main house immediately off the top of the stairs. This was the “best room” at Peace and Plenty Inn. Upon entry to the room there is an awkward table and you are looking directly into the bathroom which looked nice but doesn’t do much for a first impression. Through a doorway, we entered the bedroom which contained a adequately comfortable king bed, but it was extremely noisy and I’m not convinced the headboard was properly attached. There were zero power outlets accessible in the bedroom. There was a closet with a mini ironing board but no iron. The room lacked a fridge, which is not uncommon but would make a nice addition. Moving into the sitting room located at the back of the room off the foot of the bed, there were a small loveseat and rocker. There was a door that led to another mystery room which was poorly secured with an improperly installed latch held by a single screw. The top of the door was warped allowing one to see the heaping pile of storage items and unfinished ceiling (exposed insulation). The views in the room included that of the parking area and the garden but were blocked by filthy exterior window awnings. The garden looked nothing like the photos and clearly lacked upkeep; the water in the fountain was greenish-brown. The best part of the stay was the breakfast. I believe the chef’s name was Carla. She and here food were amazing. She prepared homemade waffles (with a hint of orange peel) and concocted the most delicious topping sauce I have ever tasted. She really turned our stay around and is single handedly the only reason I would even consider staying here again. I read an entry in the desk journal located in our room that suggested a previous owner or staff member was “lost”. Based off the reviews I am left to assume my experience suffered from others due to a change in staff, management or ownership. It is possible such issues will be ironed out in time, but unfortunately I cannot emulate the experience of preceding visitors. Thanks for the upgrade and it’s nothing personal but the place needs some work to be competitive with...

Location: Prime spot to stay in as it's just a short 3min walk (if that) to Flagler College and the Lightner Museum. Made it super easy to hop on and off the Old Town Trolley.
Property: The place is nestled between 3 other B&B's, which I fondly referred to as B&B Row. During the Nights of Lights, each of these houses are lit up, making the space feel magical. Parking is tight tho, but available for guests who are staying. Plus it was nice to not have to stay at a place that required guests to park on the street. Check-in was seamless for us, we were arriving slightly beyond the window for in-person, but the owner/staff sent msgs via text notifying us our room key was in our room and the #. We did end up arriving still w/in the check-in time, but exhausted so it was nice to just go straight to our room.
Our Room: We stayed in the Nirvana Spa (#8) in the Carriage House behind the main house. The courtyard is cute and inviting. My only recommendations for our room is 1. A fan - due to the humidity of a hot shower and it being an open space for the most part, the room can feel stuffy. Also, we couldn't figure out how to lower the thermostat in our room, so unfortunately we slept hot; We only stayed 2 nights so it wasn't something I was going to harp on. Plus, with the weather being so cool, we opened the window to allow that refreshing air in; 2. A different floor cleaner - the place was def clean as the cleaning product scent hung in the air, but whatever is used to clean the floor, makes it feel greasy and kind of gross to walk on; and 3. The bed - it could use a mattress pad to firm it up. Oh and if you don't like standing on river rock, I recommend shower shoes. My husband's feet cramped up due to standing on uneven surface, but I wore my crocs in the shower, so I had no issues.
Food: We only had breakfast 1x during our stay and it wasn't bad.
Staff: Friendly in-person but testy over the phone.

Read moreMy mom, husband and I took a trip up to Saint Augustine for a long weekend this Memorial Day weekend. What a trip! Made even better by the Peace and Plenty Inn. The details in everything is remarkable. You can see every item in this place has been chosen with thought and care. Everything - down to the toilet paper holder. Honestly. Everything is very interesting and intriguing.
They are very accommodating. My mom and I are vegan and they made us a special breakfast. Very thoughtful. We didn’t expect it honestly and we wouldn’t have fussed about it but they asked upon arrival if we had any special restrictions so we answered. It’s wonderful that they will accommodate any diet restrictions you have :) On Sunday we had to leave early to get in line for Castillo de San Marcos because the line gets very long very fast on a holiday weekend when it’s so busy. They were so nice to serve us breakfast early. We were very grateful.
After a long day of running around sightseeing, it was wonderful to come back to this lovely Inn and relax. They have a beautiful bath tub with the jacuzzi setting that was heavenly after walking all day. I picked up some bath bombs from a local store and it was the perfect way to end the day - followed by sitting outside on the porch with a glass of wine
They have a beautiful water fountain in the courtyard and it’s also very relaxing to sit back there.
The location is perfect it’s very close to trolley pick up and drop off spots - there was a trolley stop right across the parking lot in front of the house we found out the 2nd day we were there so that was really convenient when we wanted to go explore the old jail and fountain of youth
Location is key for me. It’s easy to walk to Saint George Street yet it’s not on a main road so you don’t hear all that noise at...
