Jan's Place Restaurant and Bakery — Restaurant in Florida

This is a sad day. My 1st bad review for "anyone". We are frequent customers of Jan's. We spend lots of money there. And today, I gained some insight into what Jan's is all about. It's not about great customer service folks, but about turning tables as quickly as possible. We were there a bit longer than usual while waiting for an oil change up the road. Our waitress, "Lisa"... She's a veteran there but has "0" personality. You will struggle to solicit a smile from her. We had to ask another waitress for refills on coffee and when asking for "to go" boxes, they brought us "one" to share. My husband asked for a second one and they brought him a "mini" box that wouldn't even hold his pancake. My husband asked kindly for another big box and that box came back to us with "attitude". At this point, I'm trying to keep a good attitude but then we started getting cross looks from wait staff and management as we sat there packing up to leave. What a restless and negative experience. Then to top it off... a manager walks to our table to announce that there was quite a wait outside... in other words "get out". We left Lisa a very good tip on a very high bill and we did confront Jan herself. Her response... We have a business to run and tables to fill. That's it folks. Jan's will get a "1" star today for "Great food".... that's it! Very disappointing. I try to be a very positive person and offer encouragement to people as much as possible but today I had to share truth. I'm very discouraged about this to say the least. Try Lure's. Yesterday I took my father and my baby sister out to breakfast here at Jan's place when we first got there we were told we would have to wait 25 to 30 minutes which was completely understandable being that it was a Sunday Morning and they were completely slammed. I was absolutely amazed when we were notified our table was ready and walked in and we were greeted by the hostess greeting my father (Gary) by name. This was our first time there. The gentleman that was our waiter was so Awsome! I don't remember his name but he had like a short crew cut and he was tall and he completely went out of his way my baby sister is on a special diet and all she wanted was just some fruit and she asked him if they served fruit bowl and he brought her the most beautiful fruit bowl, which was completely filled with not only one or two different kinds of fruits multiple fruits I had the French toast breakfast and my father had eggs and bacon and toast the food was absolutely beyond mind-blowingly amazing. The entire experience there was absolutely the best service I have ever seen in my life. Every single thing about Jan's place is number one in my book from the second you walk into the atmosphere you sit down to the waiter or waitress that serves you to the food every single thing is absolutely amazing and then all 39 years of My Little Life they are my absolute number one favorite restaurant and I highly recommend them to any and everybody. i might be young but i know me some cumbusting food this was my first time trying jan’s place with my aunt and when i tell u when i first walked in the back door i questioned the atmosphere but once i smelt that delicious waffley sent my jaw dropped to the floor. it was fabulouso not even to mention the outstanding music taste taking me back to the good old days in the 80’s oh i miss those times with queen, elton johnson, and journey. placing my be suspicious but when i tell u the best dinners are where they have them multi-colored plates is where it’s at. reminds me of back in the day. they also have these hilarious shirts relating to baby got back sir mix-a-lot saying “i like big buns and i cannot lie” i might have to steal one. it is so old fashioned but not older than me so u might call me old fashioned myself but i know me some good spots they also have sports team on the seating booths which are comfy so very comfy i could just kick off my socks and take a cat nap they also have funny pun wine glasses i cackled at the “it’s mom turn to wine” one they have the cutest little bakery which i didn’t get to see yet becasue i am writing this while my aunt is paying they also have the funniest pictures on the wall like “it’s not party time till the bacon comes out” LOL #WAP (waffles and pancakes) anyway i gots to go now and bring home some leftovers for my husband robert he will have a hoot out of my yelp review anyway tootle loo see ya later alligator #jesus #bobross #goingto...
