I frequent Joey's and find their Sicilian and Nona pizzas to be their stongest area. I decided to give a classic NY style a try this time. I ordered a light cheese / extra sauce pizza and added my own toppings at the house. I topped it with mushrooms, sugar rush peach peppers / bell peppers, basil, and black Truffle oil (If you haven't tried Truff oil on your pizza, you are missing out!) Keep in mind that NY style is my least favorite of all pizza.
The Crust - 7/10 - Crunchy, airy, and overall enjoyable. I could've used just a sinch more color and maybe a tad of malted barley syrup in the crust, but otherwise this was well done.
The Sauce - 9/10 - Aromatic, flavorful, and properly embodies the flavors that a pizza sauce should.
The Cheese - 10/10 - Hard to mess up a good mozzarella. Not much to detail here except that it was enjoyable with a nice pull.
Overall this NY Style pizza I give a solid 7.5/10
If I were to get another NY pizza, I would do it here. Probably among the best I've had in the area. I'm ALWAYS coming back for that Sicilian though my friends! Thank you for all you do, and for providing the coastal NPR / Trinity areas an amazing Italian market we can count on. No more drives to Moschella's, Felice's, or Mazzaro's....
Read moreI saw the market on Facebook, I love homemade Italian food and a deli added is just an awesome bonus. I grew up on Long Island, NY and the delis are like the best restaurants. So,... my expectations were high and met. First I got one of my favorite sodas I used to drink out of the case...they have so many Olde Brookyln's (was so happy they had it! I almost got cream soda!) Then I ordered a caprese sandwich which had fresh mozzarella, crisp delicious tomatoes (I added prosciutto because we IYKYK) and a balsamic glaze that had a rich and delicious flavor (which I also asked for extra) and fresh in house homemade bread. The portion was insane however, I cut it in half and saved room for their amazing dessert case with homemade Italian goodies... canolis, pistachio cake, chocolate raspberry cake... those are the ones I brought home but there are also cookies and other cakes and pastries...it was delicious!!!! I will be back but not on Mondays because they are...

The staff has either a geriatric who is not up front helping out or some young entitled kids who are too busy having personal conversations to assist, but want to act like you are the reason you aren't ordering already. Actually shocking that they didn't have their faces buried in their phones. Great customer service starts with a friendly welcome not presenting your back to the register. The parking lot/location is in the worst of locations, wait til Hou get lowes there, you would have inconvenienced your customers trying to go back on to 54. Last is their hours of operation. Closing at 6 pm? Where's your early bird specials since you seem to only accommodate old people? Save your money and visit Santellis or 3 brothers NY Pizza. Really seems as though someone without common sense made the business decisions from product, to hiring staff,...
