WOB Bar & Kitchen Odessa — Restaurant in Florida

We came here a week ago, and there were a few kinks, but they were expected being that they recently opened. The experience was good enough to return the next week. Today was a very polarizing experience. After being seated, we waited for nearly 10 minutes before being greeted. We immediately ordered drinks and an appetizer. Another 10 minutes later most of our drinks came. We placed our order when the last of our drinks came and inquired about our appetizer. 12 minutes later our server checked in with us. Still no appetizer, we asked for a refill on drinks. Yeah, we are now 45 minutes into our visit with empty drinks, no appetizer, and no meals. Our server checked to see if we were OK and I inquired about all of the above. He said that the food should be up in about five minutes and asked if I wanted the appetizer still. More than 10 minutes now and I am told that the server doesn’t want to put pressure on the kitchen or the bar because they’re busy… 1 hour 15 minutes in and we are just getting food. Still no refills on drinks. There doesn’t seem to be any oversight or awareness from anyone.

We won’t write them off, but it will be a while before we’re back. They need to work out their growing pains and train people properly. Expected more from an established local chain that we have visited since their inception.

Ok, to preface this: no one was rude. Not a single staff. So why my lower score? We first get there and the staff member tells us that there will be a bit of a wait for two. We ask about the open table right in front of us and are told “well we want to keep that open just in case a bigger party comes.” So…. Me and my boyfriend standing in front of you don’t count? So we opt for open seats at the bar. The bartender serving us, again, not rude. But I almost wanted to ask her if she was having a bad day. Didn’t crack a smile once and it almost felt like most of the staff were going through the motions. The food was ok, not bad, not great. Just ok. I will say very greasy; and it made me think about how I should have saved the money and made food at home. The server bringing out food tot eh car nearly spilled the food on me, not through his clumsiness, but the warped wooden plate it was served on. A very nice couple asked us if we could shift seats down so they could sit together. Guess they had to opt for the bar too because as we left, that “reserved table” was still empty. This was my first time to World of Beer in Odessa. With all the other options in Odessa, Lutz, and Land O Lakes.. consider what really keeps customers coming back. It’s the experience. World of Beer in Trinity is a great spot to hang out if you’re looking for variety and a relaxed atmosphere. The beer selection is honestly incredible, with options you don’t normally see elsewhere. Everything I tried was fresh and poured just right, and it’s clear they put effort into keeping a wide range of choices for every type of beer drinker. If you enjoy trying something new, this place definitely delivers on that.

The food was also really solid. It’s not just typical bar food, but dishes that actually have flavor and pair well with the drinks. Portions were fair, and the quality was better than I expected. You can tell the menu is built to complement the beer list, and it worked perfectly for our table.

The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is because of the service. For the time we visited, it wasn’t very crowded, yet the service moved slower than it should have. It took longer than expected to get both drinks and food, which was surprising considering how few people were there. Once things arrived, everything was great, but the waiting took away from what could have been a perfect experience.

Overall, it’s a spot I’d definitely come back to for the amazing beer selection, good food, and easygoing vibe. With slightly quicker service, it would be an easy...
