Firstly, let me start with my stylist is amazing. This 1 star review is strictly for the other staff experiences Iāve had over the past 3-4 years with multiple different employees at the Odessa location itself - this is in no way related to the quality of services received by the stylist at all. She is extremely talented. So with that being said, I know āitās hard to find good helpā and a receptionist position should be the easiest one to fill but PLEASE hire someone with customer service skills. Every time I contact this location, Iām greeted by someone who is either uninformed, unprofessional, unable to assists properly, or a combination of all 3. I am a very understanding person so when I schedule an appointment and wait a full month (due to her busy schedule), I am totally fine with waiting because itās always worth it. However when calling to reschedule with a client, please have times readily available so I can decide when I will be to make it again. No one wants to hear that they are being āsqueezed inā (especially when your hair is literally down below your butt and know it always takes around 2 hours for a shampoo, cut, blow dry, and style. So hereās my feedback for management to discuss with the staff: As a paying customer & also as a client that has supported J Joseph Salon for a few years now, I would expect minimally to receive an APOLOGY (so hard for people to do these days because businesses take that as āadmitting faultā - which for the record, it was but it wouldāve went a long way with me after I explained Iāve not had a haircut in a year and waited a month already from the time I originally scheduled only to be cancelled on the day of) & when calling to reschedule an appointment, the receptionist should probably try to find a few available days and times to discuss. I will be following my stylist to her new location and hope the staff there is much better than here. I have waited a long time and given many chances before writing this review and honestly this doesnāt even cover all the issues Iāve encountered but I hope this helps the management to better serve future clients. Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve come here before, and the other locations. I typically go to Roy, but my last cut was with Emma and it was one of the best haircuts Iāve had in a very long time. I usually have a great experience, but this time I didnāt. I wanted the same kind of haircut as last time where it was just a cleanup of dead ends and adding more body by framing around my face. My experience went south this time with the assistant when she went to wash my hair. She kept spraying water to where it was splashing all over my face. I kept wiping my face, and she didnāt even notice. Which alright, no big deal. But then she was pulling and ripping my hairā¦.it was hurting my head, and Iāve never experienced this before at any salonā¦.I physically leaned up from the seat and asked her if she was combing it because thatās what it felt light. Tight pulling with a comb. She said she was taking it but my gad, at that point I just wanted to go home. She said to let her know if she was pulling and I told her she was. She didnāt stop. So at this point I was very annoyed because my neck and head was bothering me and I felt like she was damaging my hair. The cut itself was fine, just not at all what I was expecting. Emma did long layers, which I wanted, but they are super drastic and looks weird. We agreed to the top layer being long enough to fit in a pony and it doesnāt. It doesnāt fit in the pony unless itās super high and thatās not how I wear my hair. So every time I put my hair up, this part on the left side of my face is too short, but too long to look good out. It really stinks because I love how she cuts. I need the rest of it shorter so it at least matches but I didnāt want to have her re wet it after blow drying it. She didnāt even ask if I liked it, so I just paid and left. Unfortunately, I need to book another hair cut because I canāt stand how it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am horribly upset. Showed a picture of my hair that was done in one of their other locations. The person who did my hair at there other location had left so I decided to try one of their locations closer to home. The first time my hair didnāt turn out perfect, but I was happy. It was the first time she had done my hair and I figured it would take more than once to understand exactly what I wanted. When I arrived this time I showed her a picture of my hair that had been done previously at the other location and asked her if she was capable of doing it. She said yes. As I was sitting at the sink waiting for toner she scheduled my next appt. Well we wonāt be needing that. It turned out horrible. Nothing like the picture. I was in a hurry because I was catching a plane. But I showed her my issues with it. She saw it herself and knew it didnāt look good. She offered to fix it when I get back in town. For her to have messed it up so bad. Not just the color, but the technique there was no way she would be able to fix it. I was charged $240. Everyone knew I wasnāt happy. I tried to call another location to find out who was in charge of the salons so I could talk to them and show pictures. The girl would only give me the name of the Odessa location and no one else. Then let me know she will call the location to be able to understand the situation. I tried to tell her I can show her the situation. Nope. She let me know she would call and call back. I responded I donāt need you to call I can call myself if that is the only person there is to talk to. She insisted on calling. Now I am leaving to go out of town and embarrassed to even see my relatives looking like this. Horrible horrible experience. Never...
