I have lived in Sarasota for over 40 years,(my whole life), and can tell you, if you want truly AUTHENTIC Mexican food, then La Bodega is IT! If you're looking for Taco Bell type Mexican food, then don't bother coming here. This menu is AUTHENTIC. You order at the counter, and might not recognize some of the dishe' s names, but if you inquire with the super friendly staff, they will happily explain, in detail, the tastebud tantalizing dish,(seriously, I've had them all- n they're ALL delicious!), you ask about. The condiment bar is a MAJOR plus. Pico De Gallo, as well as a plethora of sauces and other greens available to dress your dish precisely how YOU like, just adds to the already amazing flavors. I never take the time to do this but this is how badly my experience was. The food had a hair in it and when my family told the waitress, she just laughed it off. My drinks were expired, they expired in March and now its June, which shows how often they check their inventory. A health inspector should come in and take a look at the quality of the food because it was horrible. To those thinking about coming here, go anywhere else, pleas.
