First and foremost I took my Fiancé here as a birthday celebration. He just turned 20 and after some thought i figured we both deserved to go somewhere nice for his birthday. We arrived early to our reservation just in case something came up and noticed the dining was particularly empty BUT it was a sunday night so no surprise. They got us in a booth promptly at the reservation time. Since I told them it was for a birthday celebration they came out with an alcoholic drink and we sadly had to decline. I thought that was super nice and the server gave out the two drinks for free and said it would be reimbursed with dessert. It only went downhill from there. I understand this is meant for a resort and a more laid back atmosphere but it took over an hour for us to even put in our order. And we had to listen to some very…loud drinkers at the bar. Two of which were older gentlemen who would not leave any young woman who showed up alone. They would both harass these women until they would either leave completely or have to move seats. Nothing was ever done about them. The Appetizers finally arrived and they were AMAZING. Well plated and tasted delicious. Crab cakes were finely seasoned and well rounded with flavor. Lobster Bisque was phenomenal and looked gorgeous. The servers even went as far as to explain each origin and the way to get the most flavor. another 45 minutes went by until the Entres. Finally we get our main dishes, and they are disappointing to say the least. Fiancé got the T-bone steak and i got 10oz Filet Mignon. These dishes are served on huge plates and it makes the steaks look small in comparison. There is nothing else on the plate except the steak as sides are extra. Steaks were good but not good enough to want to spend $90+ dollars on a STEAK. Fiancés had so much inedible fat on it. Flavorful and a good treat but not phenomenal as the appetizers. The sides were very very delicious and stole the show next to the steaks. Now dessert, mind you it has been over 2 hours and dessert is covered. Fiancé ordered the Dulce Cake (?) it was a chocolate dish with strawberry icecream and a few berries. It was the worst thing on this menu. Chocolate was grainy, Berries were soggy, and the icecream was melted?? We waited an extra 30 minutes for this dessert and it was honestly awful. It took another 30 minutes for her to collect our check and a whopping total of 300+ dollars. It seemed the service was ok we had to keep reminding the server for refills, the food just started out amazing and then kept getting worse and in the end it took a little over 3 hours to finish a meal. I have no complaints on price i knew what i was getting into taking him here, but the service was just not worth it in the end. I would like to maybe try it again sometime but hopefully not get seated near a bar of creeps and maybe a bit earlier in the day if it’s going to...
Read moreI bought a gift card for my boyfriend for Christmas. He has been wanting to try Maury's, so that is where we went. Our waiter, though very friendly with a great attitude, was highly undertrained to be working at what we thought is a 4-5 star restaurant. We are not drinkers, so we ordered iced tea. We each ordered steak (petite and 10 ounce), crab cake appetizer to share, and au gratin potatoes and brussle sprouts. The crab cakes were amazing, probably the best we've ever had. The potatoes and brussle sprouts were very good, but for $16 each, they should be.The dining tables for 2 are so small that we had to put the bread basket, plates, and butter on the seat. First cut into the steaks, they seemed okay. Mine was to be medium and his, medium well. Our waiter asked if the steaks were good, we said yes. After another cut we realized that my steak was not pink inside, and his was rare. He cut a portion of his and gave it to me, and I gave him the rest of mine. Our waiter had several tables at that point, we couldn't flag him down. After we were finished, my boyfriend still had a large portion of rare steak on his plate and the waiter came by and we told him the issue. He asked if we wanted him to take the remaining, half eaten meat and put it back on the grill to cook further! 😬 We said no. He then offered to refill our iced teas for FREE. They charge for refills?!? Then he offered free dessert, so we got one to go. The bill was $188.32. The dessert was literally 3 bites, and costs $12. When we presented the gift card, he said "at least the meal didn't cost you that much" . I responded that it was me who bought the gift card in the first place. He laughed. So, overall...we found the restaurant to be overpriced, pretentious, and a staff that is needing additional training. It's a STEAK restaurant. If the chef doesn't know the difference between rare and medium well, that's a problem. My biggest regret is that my Christmas gift was a huge disappointment,...
Read more3 hours it took for a family to eat. 5pm to 8pm Unacceptable. Seafood was definitely not fresh. From what we order and what we saw and smelled. The seafood was not fresh at all. Remember, chef, you are serving locals that catch the food you serve right in the waters behind your hotel. Locals can tell what's fresh seafood and what is not. Fresh is never frozen and never let to sit more than 48 hours. I ordered the 36oz Tomahawk. It came to the table cold. It was so grilled charred that I had to cut over done burnt charred off the steak just to get to the natural beef flavor. The beef itself is very good quality. Just poorly cooked. Our scallops were not fresh and were undercooked. The salads were on point and were 5 stars. Same with the dressings. But they only had 4 different ones to choose from. Caesar, blue cheese, and two different kinds of vinegarettes. Desserts were very good. All in all, it reminds me of a Ruth Chris/ Mark's steak house chain restaurant. It will have its ups and down on service time, and the food will always be goooodddd. It just will never hit that wow factor that you get with your true high-end executive chefs owned restaurants. Those executive chef owned restaurants are at the same if not better price points than this restaurant. Remember if you're going to charge $200.00 for beef. It needs to be prepared in that manner. Our meal fell way short than what was charged. We have been there, done that kind of restaurant. O yeah, the bar is killer. They did a great job with the bar area. Live music and singing. It's definitely going to be a hot spot. Bad idea having a bar right next to your highend dining area. The first bar fight already rang in round 1. 😆 🤣 was told there had already been 2 bar disturbances. So you can see it will be hit or miss on bringing the kids to dinner or the good old Friday night...
