This is a small down home eatery. There are only about 10 tables in this restaurant. This was my first time there but apparently there are many many regulars that keep on coming back and this creates long lines waiting for a table. They do have a bench outside to sit while you are waiting, but it can only hold about five people. So you are left standing, for a while, in my case about 25 minutes. There are specials everyday. I was there on a Thursday, and everyone in line was talking about the Thursday special which is meatloaf, homemade and supposedly delicious. I did not try it but everyone was raving about it. The owners and workers are down home friendly and know many people by name. I really wanted to enjoy my first time experience there, however the long wait and having to stand for 25 minutes, really dampened the whole experience.
Update: I did have the opportunity to go back to Mrs Mac's. It was around 1:00 p.m. and there was no waiting, not crowded at all on a Tuesday afternoon, experience was much more enjoyable. The food was great, the service was friendly, and once again, the major difference this time was that I did not have to wait in line for 25 minutes. It makes a difference. Great place, great food and a fun environment of...
Read moreSuch a cute resturant and the food was really good! The man who seated us was very nice and there was no wait. We got our food fast and it was nice and hot. We had a great time until we were walking out nd our waitress approached us with an attitide about not tipping her enough (even though we tipped her almost 15%) Either way, I still recommend.
Here's the full story: Soooo we went to Mrs. Mac's Fillin Station and our bill was $26.80, Michale gave her $30 and told her to keep the change (3.20) which is almost 15%. So anyways, as we're walking out she comes up and says "Here's your change." and hands us $1.80 we then reply, "Oh, we said you could keep it" (not realizing she only gave us $1.80 back) THEN she says "That's not even a 10% tip, if you need it then keep it." WHICH WOULD BE TRUE IF WE TIPPED HER $1.80 BUT WE DIDN'T. We know we gave her $30 because Michale gave her $20 bill and two $5 bills and if he only gave her a $20 bill and one $5 bill that would have been insufficient because our bill was $26.80. SO she either gave us someone else's tip or she gave us half of the tip we gave her either way, she messed up and caused a little bit of a scene.
At first, I felt bad because I thought we hadn't tipped her and...
Read moreExtremely cute little place with great food however their host neglected to let us know that their $7 dollar waffle (a whole box of waffle mix is $2-3) was about the size of an EGGO waffle 😂 then when we called to comment on this the host tried gaslighting us saying that she definitely told us it was a tiny waffle (we ordered on speaker phone with 3 people standing around the phone and not one of us heard a word about it being small). At the end of the conversation she just said “well that’s what we serve so”.
Working in restaurants my entire life I’ve never heard a host treat a customer like this over confusion about food. I didn’t even ask for a refund nor did I want one, I just figured that it should be mentioned so that other customers don’t fall into the same confusion yet she decided to be rude to us and didn’t even offer an apology. If I could give 0 stars in the service section I totally would.
Again, the food was good but for the price and attitude of the staff, there’s 20 other places just as good to go to within 10 minutes...
