Today I arrived at Popeyes just before it was scheduled to open.
I waited in the parking lot until 10:02 am. I then drove up to the drive thru speaker. I waited there for about 2 minutes. No one responded. I then drove up to the pick up window where I waited a few more minutes. I could see people moving about, seemingly setting up for the day. there was a worker who moved back and forth from the window a few times and on her 3rd or 4th time near the window she opened it and greeted me and apologized that they were just opening. a minute ot so later she returned to take my order. she gave me my drink and asked me to pull forward and told me someone would be out with my meal. I imagined there was a car behind me why she'd asked me to move, but there wasn't one. I went inside to adjust something with my beverage. I noticed there wasn't chicken available on the trays and I heard that chicken would be ready in about 5 minutes.
I became even more frustrated as it was now about quarter past 10 and I had a 1030 appointment in another town for which I would be late. The staff seemed friendly and attentive when I waited for my food and updated me on the wait time. I was even given a little something extra for my inconvenience. I appreciated that gesture.
I took my freshly friend chicken to my vehicle and while I was excited for freshly fried food, it was a bit too hot for my likings. I used some napkins to tear my breast apart to help it to cool faster, as opposed to just biting into it. i was utterly appaled to see that my chicken was raw on the inside. it wasn't merely underdone. but it was actually RAW!
I PROMPTLY returned to the store and requested a refund. The cook took a look at the undercooked chicken and and casually mentioned that it was because the peice was "big".
I was offered a replacement and/or a refry but I was no longer interested and I was already late. I'd been at the property for about half an hour when I'd only budgeted several minutes for my stop.
My warning to you.... check your chicken for doneness before digging in! Foodborne...
Read moreThis Popeye's location is the worst I've ever been too! Not just Popeyes but the worst fast food experience I've had in my life....multiple times! The time before my last attempt to get food here, I was in the drive through for 20 minutes and when I finally got my flounder sandwich meal, the sandwich and fries were not even hot! The last time (and I do mean last time because I will never eat here again) I went to this location was a week ago. I had my disabled father with me and he was eager to try their chicken sandwich because he never had one and wanted to see what all the hype was. Well once again, I was stuck in the drive thru for 30+ minutes this time! And thats not the worst of it! There were 3 other cars in front of me that waited even longer. The 1st car pulled forward and was waiting, the 2nd car in front of me was directed by an employee to a parking space to wait for their order, and the guy in front of me was waiting at the window. There was also at least 6 other cars that had attempted to get in the drive thru but left when they couldn't even get to the menu to place an order after 10-15 minutes. My Dad was getting antsy and needed to use the restroom and wanted to leave but I was boxed in because the car behind me was too close for me to back up. Luckily, the guy behind me finally got tired of waiting, and pulled out of the line and left. Which gave me the opportunity to leave myself. Having worked my whole adult life in the restaurant biz and being a culinary school grad, I can without a doubt tell you that this location is run by employees that just don't care about customers or their job for that matter. I will gladly drive all the way across town when I want to get my chicken fix to the Chick filet on route 60 where they have 10 times the amount of people in line at the drive thru and you will get out of there in less than 10 minutes. If I was the owner of this location I would fire all of the slackers and start new because they are killing...
Read moreWell I decided to give it another chance and I could not have been more disappointed starting with a cashier counting out her drawer right in front of a filled floor of customers.. one thing I know is you don't count large amounts of money in Plainview of strangers within an Arm's Reach of me. Then she became so frustrated she literally broke down and started crying loudly in front of everyone to the point where I'm assuming they were managers came out from the back to calm her down and pull her out of the view of the public.. if it wasn't for Angel who I overheard was brand new. she was the only one who took the orders prepared the food and served every customer with a smile. My wife and I counted at least four other employees on their cell phones while attempting to do their jobs thank God Angel was there to keep the line moving swiftly. She may be brand new to the business but from what I've seen you need to promote her to manager and fire every other person on the staff. I have never in all my years seen such a disorganized group of Staff members who acted so unprofessional with the crying loudly and yakking on their phones in my entire life. When we got home the fries literally tasted like soap I'm assuming from improper washing and rinsing, luckily for them the chicken was good as usual. Everyone except for Angel was an absolute embarrassment to that company and if anyone reading this in management should really take notice.. what a joke...
