I am posting this review in response to Julia Cole's review and the owners.
I was the person with her at the bar. I understand that your employees were trying to do their "job". However they did it incorrectly. Your bartender took our ID's glanced at them under the light by your expo station, and said he couldn't take them. We asked why, he then got another person. They asked us to repeat our addresses. That person looked at me and said that it wasnt correct. I repeated my address again along with my birth date. That's when the guy bartender asked "the boss" that was sitting at the bar to look at them. Your bartender was complaining the whole time about our ID's while the "boss" looked at them. He asked me to take my glasses off which I did. And the "boss" said the bartender could serve us.
The reason why we assumed the "owner" was at the bar is because your bartender kept saying "he's the boss whatever he says goes". During this process other people from your staff came up to the bar and stare at us and asked the bartender what he was doing. He said " I guess I am making these margaritas" and just complained about it the whole time.
I get your bartender was trying to do their job but he obviously couldn't identify where our birthdates were at on a GA drivers license then tried to refuse us from there.
It was very awkward and the bar got quiet when we were questioned. I run my own bartending service and I would never make a client or customer feel that unwelcome in an establishment. Also running my own business I was coming out to SUPPORT YOUR BUSINESS from out of town. It was also awkward because we were sitting on your patio enjoying the margaritas that were made for us and I could see your staff coming by the door to watch us.
We are not rowdy people. We just came in to enjoy a drink. I don't think the way your responded to my friend was very professional and I would recommend talking with all of your bartending staff. Because the gentleman who served us was rude and by the time we came to pay our tab...
Read moreFirst time eating food from the Old Mill Tavern. I saw previous Google reviews about how good the hot wings were so my friend and I decided to try some while in town. I got 10 hot and she got 10 mild to go. The wings had good flavor. The hot sauce was a classic Buffalo style. My hot wings were drenched in sauce while my friend’s mild wings were kinda on the dry side. What irks me is that out of my 10 wings only 2 were flats and the other 8 were drumsticks. I should’ve ordered all flats because that’s really what I enjoy. The drumsticks were just too large but that is my opinion. We called in our order and Monica was friendly over the phone and in person. I asked for one ranch and one blue cheese and they were placed inside the styrofoam with the wings. When I got back to the house (a 7 minute drive maybe) and opened the container I went to pick up one of the dressings by wrapping my fingers around the edge of the lid and it had warped from the heat from the food and caused the dressing to fall and spill all over my wings which I did not want dressing on 🤦♀️ I was picking it up to hand to my friend. Her dressing cup also was warped from the heat. Cold things don’t belong inside hot containers. But again just my opinion. Still giving this place a five because the parking, inside atmosphere, menu selection, service & flavor of the food were all good 👍 Next time I’ll order all flats and ask for the sauce to be kept outside the container. Also this place seems steadily busy just based on the cars out front, so it must be...
Read moreWent to Old Mill Tavern over this last weekend (edit for owner; 06/07/24) and was pretty bummed out. There were only 2 people working the bar. I guess the scheduled 4pm employee didn't show so by 5pm the place was pretty full and very understaffed. We were popping in for a quick bite, but mostly drinks. I got one margarita (which kinda tasted like it was made with something expired) but since the service was super slow, it was the only drink I had. Our food was delicious and dropped off super fast, but when we went to ask for refills, we just kept getting told, "Sorry, it's going to be a while." Had we known our planned 30-minute quick stop before an event would have had us hostage for over an hour, we would have picked another establishment. My hubs got 2 beers, and I only got 1 margarita. Neither of us ever got our waters. We had to wait over 20 minutes to be cashed out. We ended up being late to our event so we could sit at the bar with empty glasses waiting to pay. Would have never guessed this would have been our experience since there were only like 3 people in the place when we walked in.
We felt bad for the 2 people staffed. The guy said he had been there all day and was going to leave, which would have left the one older bartender to herself to serve and bartend the WHOLE place alone. We tipped well, and we enjoyed our pretzel and 2 chicken tenders. We're unsure if we will...
