We arrived and there were not any signs or instructions where to park. Everything was closed and no office to get help. Upon opening the door, the stuffy and hot unit was stifling. We tried turning down the air conditioner, but a sign next to the a/c Control said to keep it at 80°! We live in Florida and 80° inside an upstairs unit is not acceptable or livable. The Internet was not working or the tv, so we called the numbers listed for help, and received a text they would be back the next morning at 7 a.m. That was not acceptable as we felt uncomfortable staying somewhere that the manager would not answer a phone call. We checked the snacks they left in the kitchen and one of the bags had chew marks on it from either roaches or rodents. I texted the manager and told her we could not stay due to the nonworking amenities, and the smothering heat in the unit was unbearable. We didn't feel comfortable staying in a place with horrible communication in case of a more serious problem that might occur. The lady said she would refund us 50% of our payment through Booking.com. We went to reputable accommodations that night after this...
Read morePeaceful, natural setting, rustic charm, alligator (and video) security. Their office for tours is on site, and so are the charter boats-- the river, along with kayaks are in the backyard!. Kayak rental? FREE! The bungalow is huge, with open floor plan, and stocked with everything you need, even washer/dryer. Even the wrap around porch is wide, because it is in the tree, lol. The floors and walls are wood, and the single bedroom has 2 double beds, plus the living room has 2 couches. The picnic table on the porch is a plus, and there are covered tables down by the docks also. The staff is very accommodating, and the entire property is clean. The office also has souvenirs and trinkets. Phenominal handmade pottery is sold under the treehouse, and a cafe is on site also. The best part to me, is that the treehouse is the only lodging. When the boats all get in, the staff leave and lock the gate behind them! Talk about private and Relaxing! They are also within walking distance to historical sites and other restaurants. If you want luxury, this is not it. Convenience, cleanliness and sweet...
Read moreWell worth it. Spacious . Pretty much everything you need. Two small complaints. We were set to cook dinner on the outdoor grill provided by them,.. .no propane. And... $75. as a cleaning fee. Wouldn't seem too bad, but inside was dusty, especially the globes on the fan lights. Oh, and freezer worked great, refrigerator,...ah...not so good. Those are minor, though. Place is much nicer on the inside than you would have guessed. Rented pontoon boat and had a fantastic time snorkelling / scalloping. Friendly, helpful, staff. Great place for a stay-cation. Biggest regret - food smelled wonderful at the diner, but we ran out of time and couldn't enjoy a meal. ....This time,...cuz there will definitely be...
