Update: Great place! Awesome staff and awesome food and reasonable prices. I honestly don't see how anyone could go wrong with eating there. You owe it to yourself to check it out.! This was the first time my wife and I have gone to Pita & Puff. I can tell you that we'll be back! The first thing we noticed was that it was easy to access and there was plenty of parking. When we entered, we were both struck with the cleanliness and bright airiness of the place. We were immediately greeted and welcomed and after a short look at the menu on the wall, we both decided on the Greek Trio. We quickly realized that there were actually 3 versions of the Greek Trio! We decided on the Greek salad with Pastitio and Gyro meat. WOW! When we saw it we were IMPRESSED! The portion was very generous and the food was simply delicious! We loved how quickly the food came out to us and truthfully, we could not eat another bite. We will be back because there were many things on the menu we would still like to try. You owe it to yourself to check Pita & Puff out. Right off of Tamiami and Tarpon in Port Charlotte!
UPDATE: My wife and I went to Pita and Puff (2665 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte) again this Friday for dinner. We decided to try it again because it has recently switched to Table service and we wanted to find out if that affected anything. I am happy to report, NO! In fact We both felt that things had actually IMPROVED since we were there last. The addition of table service did give the place a more upscale feel. However from what we could tell, the prices are still about the same. Also, gone is the menu at the front because they now are using printed and laminated menus. We were promptly seated and given a menu and asked what drinks we would like. We looked around and saw that the place is still very clean and bright. Just as it was before. My wife ordered the Pita's Delight Salad with steak and I ordered the Greek Salad with Gyro meat. The place was not busy and the music that played was 80's and 90's top 40. Not complaining at all. It was delightful. When the food arrived, our server was attentive and stopped back several times to see if we needed anything else. Just like the previous times we were there, the food was excellent and we both felt that they definitely stepped it up a notch. You should all go back and check it out again. I think you will be pleased with the results. One suggestion, our server did not give us her name. I got the impression that even though her service was exemplary, that she did not have a lot of experience at this. Nonetheless, she did a fantastic job. But next time, if they do not give me their name, I will ask. It just makes things more personable. Otherwise, no...
Read moreAbout once a month I order a Greek chicken wrap combo. Ordered tonight like any other night over the phone. Go to pick it up, ask for my cup, which has historically come with a DRINK. I'm told they no longer provide drinks with a combo.
Instead, apparently when you ask for a combo, they combine the $7.99 wrap and add a side of fries bringing my total to $12.79... so the price is literally the same as ordering those two items separately.
The fact they failed to tell me this on the phone and then offered me nothing upon pickup was enough to consider not doing business here in the future.
However what solidified my decision was when I got home and the normal cup of dressing was not in my container... Again, as it always is. I call back and ask if they are not providing that either? The kid at the desk tells me, they stopped doing that too. When I advised they may want to consider telling people this when they're ordering over the phone, the response was "yeah well, we made the change over a month ago so..."
Congrats P&P, you lost a customer over something you could have simply saved. Actually, two opportunities to save. And you failed at both. I will be sure to also change my 5 star review on the Charlotte County Eats page as...
Read moreBeen wanting to try the food here since I first saw it pop up on my Facebook feed. Price and portion wise, I was not upset. If you leave the place hungry, that's your own fault!
I ordered the trio platter with gyro. And this is my own issue for assuming but I didn't realize it would only be the gyro meat. However, the portion of meat was heaping and flavorful so this is not a complaint. The pastitsio tasted amazing though the texture was different than any I've had before as the pasta portion is more like dense spaghetti than the elbow noodles I usually see. I'm not sure what type of pasta it was but again, not a complaint but an observation as it was still delicious!
My husband ordered a burger and fries as he isn't big on Greek food. But he loved the fries as they reminded him of the old Boardwalk fries you could get at the mall back home. Very tasty!
I think my only actual complaint was the spanakopita being a bit softer than I am used to and the ratio of spinach to phyllo being a bit much. And even that is a small observation because it was still good.
Absolutely recommend trying them out and will definitely be going back again at some point to try an...
