I have now been to this place twice. The first time I was going to leave a review because the service was so terrible. To the point they forgot one of my kids meals. I gave them my meal because I wasn’t about to let my kid be hungry while everyone else was eating. After telling them twice they forgot a meal they brought out a thrown together burnt attempt of a quesadilla with no cheese. The manager was too busy at the bar to be bothered to even stop by the table. As we were leaving I made sure to speak to the manager as I felt he should have the opportunity to hear why I was going to leave the poor review. He gave me his card and stated he would make sure he would make it right if we would just give him another chance. That chance was tonight. I brought the card like I was instructed to. AGAIN he couldn’t be bothered to even stop by the table. The service was better this time as the girl did her best and was friendly. Again one meal came out after the rest of the table. And apparently the managers idea of making it right was $5 off the bill. Without even a drop by to the table to check on things. I may only be a nurse but I do know how management works and customer service. As we were leaving I again saw the manager just sitting at the bar. I didn’t bother to give him an explanation this time. There are other better places in the area I will be bringing my business to from here on out. So much for...
Read moreMixed reviews as I visited twice this week with friends & family. Food was 3-5 stars, I understand during the holidays mixups happen. Service the other night was top notch, extremely friendly, quick, prompt & attentive. Tonight, I have to admit it was about 3 stars. It's always the small things, please don't try & take my order when you see that I'm on the phone, if it wasn't important, I wouldn't have taken the call. Secondly if you see me reading the wrong drink menu, go ahead and let me know that you don't use that drink menu anymore or take it off the table. Thirdly when I'm told that your chile rellenos are mild & not spicy at all because you de-seed them, your wrong. Both the meat & chile were quite spicy, which if I wanted spicy is ok, but not when I don't. It would also be nice if it came with the egg coating. Lastly if I ask for the online discount because I've just spent $60 for 3 meals please honour it & don't ignore it by giving me a $1.40 off managers comp. Please understand that Port Charlotte is small enough, your looking for repeat business. I've eaten good Mexican food in both San Diego & Mexico for years. If the food doesn't live up to it then the service has to make the difference. PS...you got the 4th star because the margarita was...
Read moreWell this will be the last time I ever go to this restaurant.
I use to like this place and now I just feel like a complete fool for talking this restaurant up to my friends as we were forgotten outside for 45 mins.
Our party was 4 adults and one child,. People showing up after we had already waited 25 mins were getting seated before us. I walked in, waited and finally the woman who had checked us in asked me "are you waiting on something?" ...to which I replied "a table would be nice." They seated us in the same section as all the other individuals who showed up after us. Not once did we get notification, why check us into the waiting system if we are not going to get any notice of an open table?
Also, buyer beware we got an order of the mini chimichangas however there really should be a warning "may contain bones". As the waitress was taking our order, I proceeded to try the mini chimichangas appetizer that arrived and ended up biting into a chicken bone. The waitress was there witnessed it and didn't even say anything nor told a manager as if that was the "norm" for this place.
So if you don't want any of that to happen to you, find a better option for your Friday night celebrations.
