The last three times we have gone to Rick’s Café have been terrible. The first two times we walked out due to the fact we were never waited on, and we did tell the cashier and Lisa part owner. Now today we went to give it another try. it took about three minutes for our drinks. Because I was going to time them this time so I did and it took 25 minutes for our breakfast to come out. Our breakfast came out into three trips. Technically, it really came out in four trips. The omelette came out from my fiancé and my soft scant boiled eggs came out. Our toast and English muffin came out at a time separately and then I had to go up to the counter and ask for butter. I did tell the person that gave me the butter to let the managers owners know that my experience has been terrible here today and that the service has dropped off. I will not go back, we will not be back. You either need to train your staff to keep an eye on their section and make sure they’re getting good customer service or you should hire more staff that are trained and serving people and giving good customer service to your guest. otherwise you’ll be losing more customers due to the fact that they are not getting satisfaction in service. I used to like coming to Rick so am my fiancé, but today was the last straw. Lisa was told about this. She is part owner, but the same darn excuse was “we’ve been so busy!!”. We get that same darn excuse all the time from the owners and yet they do nothing about it. Maybe if you cut down their sections to smallish sections and add better weight staff you might survive. I for one is done coming there. Maybe in a few months we might try it again but right now we’re done with the poor service...
Read moreI wanted to like this place. I travel a lot and love to stop at small local diners. Those quirks that make them seem homey are nice sometimes… this place I feel over does it though. Every little weird thing that a diner could do, they do. Cash only, small menu, they don’t use butter? They serve bread and grits with whipped spread? Literally says that in large letters lol.. server wasn’t sure if the potatoes were fresh or frozen, but was positive their grits were like soup. They have white wonder bread or wheat… no rye. Menu is limited and they don’t allow changes or substitutions. Everyone in the place was well over 60, so it’s just a place that caters to locals and I felt like that with the service I received. Server was annoyed that I didn’t want a top off of coffee, but then asked for more when I finished my cup… I had just waited long enough for the hot coffee to cool enough to drink… I didn’t want to top off and it be too hot again.. oh yea.. and the coffee was bad.
All this said, there was also nothing that I typically like from these small diners either. Nothing unique on their menu, no local specials, no local fresh bread, no fresh cream, just...
Read moreThis place is very uncomfortable right when you walk in the door. You are not greeted by staff and told where to sit or seat yourself. You are stared at the whole time you're there. We were asked right away what we wanted to eat and drink without a menu. After asking for a menu we received one and ordered. My husband ordered the waffle sandwich. When it came it was eggs waffle, microwave bacon and fake eggs. Refrigerator cold. I ordered the western omlette and it was filled with some sort of canned vegetable hash. The only think that was warm was the nuked cheese on top. We have gone to alot of restaurants and been disappointed at the quality but never have we been served an eggo waffle and charged $8.00 for it.
They immediately brought the check with the food and never came back.
Hands down one of the worst dining experiences we have experienced and what's sad is this is supposed to be local comfort food. We are locals and didn't feel...
