This was not a good experience. We arrived around 12:pm no one was there dining and the Staff were all there. Our server rolled his eyes when I said waters then he was okay when I asked for a beer for myself. We got served nice warmed bread and ice hard butter in plastic containers. Then we were served after a little wait (food has to cook..right). The special of the house the morcilla (blood sausage) and chorizo and one chicken and one beef empanada. We also ordered caprese salad but that didn't come till a good 15min after the cooked food( I thought that was supposed to come first.?) So the good, the chorizo was nice and hot and cooked thu. The chicken empanada was flavorful and hot on out side and warmed thru inside as was the beef (ground beef was not as flavorful but nice). Beer was served in frosted glass (very nice). Then there was the MORCILLA it came with the chorizo. I cut it open and it smooshed out all liquid ( not moist crumbly ). Okay took a fork full was cool on the inside even though when I touch it it was very warm on outside. Caught the eye of one of the staff ( remember we were the ONLY diners there) Asked if he could heat it up better. 7 min ( plus or minus later...still no salad) a completely new morcilla comes out) Touched it it was very warm cut it (still some what liquidy but firmer... but wait) took a bite...it was frozen in the middle. Ok let's try this again. Called over the server said this is very cold in the middle. I don't think he understood or just didn't care. Came out with the salad and 5min later with yet another morcilla. Which was like the first. By then I was done. Oh and the very late caprese salad ...meh... not horrible if you like store bought mozzarella . Finally a bill lol. There is a sur charge if you use a credit card ( maybe in the fine print). There was no sorry or our apologies. If you're looking for a nice dining experience give this place a HARD PASS. I can't imagine how the more very expensive entrees are and I don't plan...
Read moreCame here for a Pre-Mothers dinner after checking out the reviews on Yelp.
The parking situation here is dicey, the restaurant is located in a very busy shopping center were parking spaces are tight and people are ruthless to let you get a spot. Your best bet is to park far and not risk getting your car hit or door dinged. At night the parking lot is pretty dark.
Now once you walk up to the restaurant you can hear the salsa music playing from far it really doesn't give you that Argentinian/ Italian vibe that the restaurant's food or menu portrays, which is puzzling. Inside it is dark but cozy, there is a small bar where you can sit and eat as well as plenty of tables. There were some TVs which at the time were showing Spanish sports which took away from the intimate restaurant feel we were looking for. The loud music playing inside the restaurant also didn't help the fact that we could hold a conversation while inside the restaurant.
However we had no complaints on the menu as it had plenty of options and the food looked delicious. We ordered the skirt steak with tostones and mashed potatoes. The food was delicious and well seasoned no complaints there.
This restaurant has potential to be great if it addressed the loud music and turned off its TVs to give it more of an...
Read moreNice place. The food, service and ambience were excellent. But the bill was my biggest surprise. Dinner for two with a bottle of wine totaled $113.00 and no problem there with me. Total bill was $125.31 and total did not added up. The invoice said that 20% tip was over $25.00 which did not add up either Reading the charges after the food and wine total of $113.00 , this stablishment adds over $4.00 to pay with a credit card and I never seen that in the U.S.A. to top it up it suggest that the tip is the sum of food and wine plus credit card use charge plus Florida Tax. I can not figure as a businessman how to pay tip for service to the State of Florida nor 20% for the use of credit card as I assume that will not go to the service personel. I left $23.00 tip and i hope it goes to service staff, told the server that I was satisfied with food and service but do not appreciate going to a restaurant and be charge like in a gas station with Cash and Credit options and not be previously advise. No probkem, I will take my...
