I recently visited Estero to attend a country music concert with a friend at Hertz Arena, which proved to be a fantastic venue for an enjoyable evening. Following the concert, I decided to dine at Rusty's Raw Bar & Grill, despite incurring a significant surcharge for the Uber ride there. Unfortunately, my experience at this establishment was deeply disappointing.
Upon my arrival, I was greeted rudely by a short blonde-haired staff member, who not only lacked professionalism but also became hostile and used profanity towards me aggressively when I attempted to place my order for a drink and appetizer. It was clear that Rusty's Raw Bar & Grill does not prioritize tourist patrons, missing an opportunity to engage with a demographic that could contribute positively to their business. The lack of respect and consideration for customers was evident.
As a manager myself, I would have taken immediate action to address the unacceptable behavior of the employee who greeted my group and terminate this employee on the spot. This experience tarnished what should have been a delightful evening, and I strongly advise others to avoid this establishment. It was a regrettable end to an otherwise enjoyable night. Shame on Rusty’s for employing this shorter blonde-haired bartender. The staff needs to learn some class here and have some courses on hospitality. Do not support this business when in town to...
Read moreI only left stars and that wasn't nice. The owner needs to know why I chose three stars. Overall the food was pretty good, and the price is reasonable. The challenge we had was the noise level, lack of help getting seated, and some tables were reserved by someone from outside. There was one person sitting at each of those tables holding them for later. We ended up sitting with three nice elderly ladies (all sisters) that meet in Florida for a weekend. They were kind enough to let us sit with them till they left.
There were several TV's competing for each other with the sound, then add all the people at the bar yelling and chatting, plus the tables having to talk loud to hear each other; it felt like a night club. Just stupidly loud.
The service was not adequate but slow. Overall we spent 1.5 hours there eating with much of it trying to get a table, and food service. When places are busy you expect to wait, but if the yelling, multiple loud TV's, standing around hoping for someone to get up and leave is the norm then we won't be back. I am not about to walk into a restaurant and stand around having no idea when I can even sit down.
Lastly, this isn't a true "raw bar". Yes they sell oysters, but that isn't what makes a raw bar. Just be aware before you visit that it's a sports bar with a couple oyster options. Again, the food was not bad, we enjoyed...
Read moreMy wife and I just got into town after 10 hours on the road and were starved. We have never been to this area of Florida, so we checked out area restaurants online. I found Rusty's Raw Bar and Grill, which had a few locations, but the one in Estero was the closest one to us. We didn't want to take the time to read many reviews, but it looked a place we thought we should try. I was expecting more of a restaurant, but found it to be a sports bar and loud. Hence, I should have read more reviews! It looked more suited to the younger crowd. My wife and I are in our 50's/early 60's. I ordered the Mahi Mahi Tacos and my wife had the chicken wings. Food came out warm, not hot. We ate it anyway as it was already going on 9pm. The food was just ok. Our waiter, Jordan J., was a nice kid, but he needs to pay more attention to his customers. We were ready to leave and I did everything but set off some fireworks trying to get Jordan's attention while he stood at the bar talking with another employee. Finally, after about 10 minutes he saw me waving at him. If it were not for my wife, he would not have received nearly the tip that we left him. I am sure this place is a fun place for the younger crowd, but it is not a place we will be returning to. ...
