Joined our good friends for a nice date night. They recommend this place. Had to call and reserve a table for our diner. Arrived a little early so we all sat at the bar and had a round of adult beverages. Drinks are mixed well and they donāt skimp on the alcohol. Was seated at our table after a short wait. Ordered a few appetizers; pork belly ends (only came with three on the plate), crab bite balls (again only came with 3), mushroom bisque, and baked brie. All the appetizers were very delicious, just not a lot of quantity for the price in my opinion.
On to the main entrees. I had a cowboy ribeye cooked medium rare that came out perfect. The sides were delicious as well and went well with the steak. My wife went with the Shrimp and Grits for her meal and as you can see in the picture it was lacking grits compared to most all other restaurants serve a helping of grits to the shrimp portion. Most of her meal were just the shrimp, maybe a table spoon of grits and the rest was a gravy type consistency. The other couple at the table both had the cowboy ribeye steak and everything was perfect with their meals and sides.
Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable of all the selections on the menu that helped us choose our diner and wine selections.
Overall a great dining experience for our first time. We know now what to order and not to order. If your hungry stay away from the appetizers since you get small small portions enough for a young child. Stay away from shrimp and grits if you like grits since you may have a bite or two before there gone. I would return to try and different meal. Will update my review once...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery disappointed! The right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing! I wasn't able to get a reservation when I called, but the hostess said the bar was open seating and it was currently full but there were a few that should be leaving shortly so I took my chances. When I arrived, there were to open seats at the bar and then I find out the 2 seats were reserved, but they didn't know where the people were at! I was told I could get a drink and when a seat come available I could grab it and the hostess pointed at the seats that should be coming available shortly so I stood behind them. 4 other couples ( locals) come in after me not having reservations and was hoping to find seats at the bar. Ordered drinks, talked with some of the locals at the bar and when the manager saw them found seats for them in the restaurant. I continued to wait for the seats at the bar to come available and when they did and we go to sit down the bartender tells us they are for someone else that was seated in a lil booth area in the bar who had been waiting for over an hour. When I ask the hostess about it, she just says " we have a lot of reservations this evening. I told her, I thought the bar was open seating! I was so disappointed and very discouraged in the lack of communication between the hostess and the bartender and seeing others w/o reservations getting seated prior to others that had been waiting longer. I ended up leaving upset and going to " The Bay" making the best of my evening. I have been to this restaurant several times. The food is excellent, but the service was horrible and very...

I started with a strawberry lemon drop martini which was delicious. Not to tart not to sweet. For starters we chose the crab beignets and my partner ordered the blue cheese and onion tart. The beignets were perfection with the crisp outside and fluffy pillow like texture inside. Highy recommend! He enjoyed the tart, Iām not a blue cheese fan so I did not try. I also had their soup of the day which was a tomato bacon bisque. A bit on the salty side and through the bacon overpowered it a bit but over all was good. For my entree I chose the shrimp and grits and my significant other chose the skillet filet. His was the clear winner. The filet was divine. Wonderful outside crust as they cook in the skillet using duck fat. My shrimp and grits were good, I think it wouldāve been better if the shrimp were blackened. The grits were really tasty. For dessert we ordered the bread pudding with goat cheese ice cream. My partner loved the bread pudding (his favorite) the ice cream was a bit weird to me. Tasted sour because of the goat milk. I opted for a espresso martini, which unfortunately I sent back. It came out looking like brown water and was just not good. Our server was kind enough to take it off of our bill. Overall, a lovely dining experience and would definitely come back again if...
