Fresh seafood is clear here! The food stand and fish market is right next to the Homosassa River. Lovely scenery where you can enjoy quality seafood. Family-like hospitality! The menu is smallbut the quality is excellent.
My family ordered yellow fin tuna tacos, wild shrimp tacos, wild shrimp quesadilla, and codfish sandwich. Two tacos for $8, codfish sandwich for $10, and quesadilla for I think $8. My Mom wrote a scribbly-looking order and I verbally confirmed it with the friendly cashier. Not surprisingly, my Momโs order was incorrect (probably due to all the scribbles), for which she had 2 tuna tacos instead of 1 shrimp taco and 1 tuna taco.
Thankfully, the cashier corrected it to get my Mom the 1 shrimp taco. She gave us the incorrect tuna taco to keep because she would have to throw it away anyway. The cashier was attentive in following-up and personally handed the requested shrimp taco to my Mom.

ย ย ย Read moreI was put on to Shelley's from a friend who grew up in the area. This years global pandemic made my usual travels all over lead to the exploration of my own state. I live in Tampa about 1.2 hours from Shelly's and since discovering it about 6 months ago myself and my friends andfamily have been taking a trip there regularly. We all love them so much when one of the group goes we alert the other friends and place orders. The seafood quality is unrivaled. I ALWAYS get the Scottish Salmon and just eat with soy sauce raw(sushi grade). From the dips to the live crabs, Shelly's is the place to go. If you are anywhere nearby stop in, they are located at a great spot on the water and are close to plenty of gorgeous spots to enjoy...

It was confusing because we were the only ones there. Since we are new to the area, it looked like a place that we would visit regularly to purchase product. Unfortunately we were never let in to see if we were even interested in purchasing anything. The woman, standing outside with a mask on, offered to bring pieces of fish out for us to look at, but couldn't let us in. My wife and I thought that was rather strange and said, "no thanks", turned around got in our car and left. Sorry, I don't know what the hell is going on there, but...
