Silver Dolphin Restaurant — Restaurant in Spring Hill

We brought an out-of-state guest here for lunch, 2 days ago. First of all, the hostess who sat us seemed to be in a very bad mood with a scowl on her face the entire time and she barely spoke to us. After about 7 min. our waitress showed up. Took our drink & food orders. Food was very good and the atmosphere was beautiful. Loved walking around looking at all the decorations and the water as well as the turtles. We ate and drank and really enjoyed it. We had just paid our bill and as we were leaving we ran into some friends. They were dining and also drinking EXACTLY what we were drinking, Shock Top beer. But they had quite a few of them. I chuckled to them about that and they said, "Oh it's the 2 for 1 beer special that we just got." We all said, "WHAT??!!" Our waitress brought us ONE beer and NEVER said another WORD about ANY special during our stay. NEVER even asked if we wanted another one. In fact, even after a while of having an empty water glass, I even had to ask her for more WATER. (This is a first for me in Florida! In all the restaurants we've been to in Florida, everybody is ALWAYS thirsty here and waitresses are ALWAYS ready with more water. ) We couldn't believe it.. So, we were nearly out the door when I decided to turn around to go back and find our waitress. I found her next to the bar talking to another waitress & a customer at the bar. I stood waiting until she was done talking to the other waitress when I finally asked her, "Was there a 2 for 1 beer special today?" She's said, "Yes". I asked her, "Why in the world didn't you EVER MENTION that to any of us?" Her exact words were, " I didn't want to RAM it down your throat." ( We were each SHOCKED and DUMBFOUNDED that she actually said THAT to us!!) She was standing in front of another waitress as she said it as well as another customer at the bar. We were DEFINITELY shocked. Each of us have waitressed in our lives and we can't even imagine EVER talking to a customer like THIS! My response was, "We were ALL supposed to get a second beer for FREE and you NEVER said a word about it to any of us. We would have probably stayed a little longer, maybe even eaten more food, snacks or even dessert." And she said, "Well, do you want one now??" My response was, "Seriously?? After we have PAID and we're nearly out the door, you're going to ask us that? We are leaving now." VERY POOR BEHAVIOR FROM A WAITRESS. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. SHOCKED AND VERY SURPRISED. Not at all...

And just like that.. I may never eat here again... We came here a few days ago (my mom visiting, me, hubby and kids). I ordered one of my favorites- a buffalo chicken wrap and bite #2 one of the worst things you can find in your food.. a long dark hair. I nearly threw up. It was strung throughout the wrap. You couldn't just pick it out. I was so grossed out I couldn't eat anything that night and I was starving. My hubby ordered the same thing and couldn't eat his food. I may never eat out again. Health and safety must not be a happening in the kitchen otherwise a hair wouldn't have been strung throughout my entire wrap. I still gag just thinking about it. I have written this place really great reviews in the past but this ruined this place for good for me which honestly stinks because I loved taking my kids here looking in the store and feeding the turtles but I'm never eating here again. Our waitress said she was sorry and it was taken off our bill but still I feel like more should have been done. It was such an awful experience and didn't just ruin my meal but everyone else's. Who wants to eat after seeing someone gag on food with hair in it. I should have taken a picture of the wrap. It was a long black hair. It couldn't have been mine. I'm blonde. Also it was strung through my wrap. Bleh. Just so gross. We were there from about 7-8:30 Friday night sitting outside just in case the owner sees this and wants to think about who was working/how this could have happened. To add, it doesn't seem like they have sprayed in awhile- there were live ants everywhere near our table we were eating at and we were eaten alive by little black flying demon bugs. I hope this helps improve your restaurant. I was really disappointed and honestly sad this happened because I used to consider this one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in the area. Not anymore. Dont come here, the restaurant is cute with the turtles and that's it. We went an ate here today. Service was slow it took over 2 hour and 10 minutes. Food was cold ... we had mozzarella sticks , fries, fried fish, freezing 🥶. Go buy your mozzarella sticks at Sam's Club and put it your air fryer way better. I asked for kids spaghetti and there was barely any sauce. I can make noddles at home and save myself $11 dollars. Chili tasted like Publix with spice added. Our server didn't take our order until we had eaten all appetizers that took 45 minutes to get for fried pickles and mozzarella sticks. We got stuck in the corner and were basically forgotten in the corner with a plastic table and chairs. I have better chairs and tables at home. The server just didn't take our order even thought we tried. It took 20 minutes for drinks. We paid over 120 dollars and this was cash for chili, 2 kids meals, 2 appetizer, 4 drinks, one alcoholic drink, burger, fries, fish dinner, and cheesesteak. The mash potatoes were like refried beans. Two our parties were left still hungry after they left. We ate mcdonalds it was hotter, fresher , and way better that day. Beware they put tons of mayonnaise on the Philly cheesesteak. They told us our food was up and that we were next and then three other orders were served before ours. The kitchen staff was seen arguing when I came back from the bathroom due to being disorganized and confused. The servers had too many tables and there not enough staff. There were people served before that had just gotten there versus us being there for an hour and half. My daughter said to server she wanted to go home she 5 year old, the server replied back "me too hunny I have a long day". Management needs to help and support staff better and fix their mess. Don't come here you be sadly...
