Iâm extremely hesitant to leave bad reviews as I know that businesses rely on them, but then again, I also know that customers rely on honest reviews to make sure that they donât get defrauded.
Our most recent encounter with simply cakes was horrendous. They screamed, were rude, and did not deliver on their services. This is not the kind of service you expect when paying $200 for a cake (you be the judge on the design).
This all started about a week ago when we were looking to buy a cake for a special occasion. We had used simply cakes about two years ago and had a pleasant experience, therefore, we decided to use them again.
First, they were rude about the flavor of the cake and ended up putting the flavor of their choosing because apparently they ânever receivedâ our message.
Then, they misspelled what asked them to write on the cake and their excuse was that âwe donât speak Englishâ although we had literally written down and sent them exactly how we wanted the name to come out.
Lastly, the back and sides of the cake were full of holes from the few decorations that were blatantly obvious. We were told that the cake was meant to be looked at by the front and not the sides or back, once again, Iâll let you be the judge of that. When you buy a $50 cake from Publix, it is beautiful from all angles.
They screamed, the were rude and I honestly hope they change their ways, or they will be out of business. Simply put, simply cake does not live up to the most basic of expectations.

   Read moreAs I'm putting the final touches on my wedding planning, I came across Simply Cakes, LLC. After seeing their rating and looking through their website, I decided to send an inquiry. I noticed that 3 days had gone by and I had not received anything back. So, I called, someone answers; I say my name and why I'm calling and the lady proceeds to talk to me in spanish. Then, she stops for a second asks me if I speak spanish... I say no. She continues to talk to me in spanish and then puts me on hold and puts another woman on the phone who further assists me. I explain the reason for my call again, letting her know that I inquired about their services and was waiting for a response. She then tells me that the lady would get back to me later on that day. I was very annoyed about that because they should not need another several hours to reply after I'd been waiting days. Needless to say, I NEVER RECEIVED CORRESPONDENCE. Most businesses make responding a top priority considering that that's another opportunity to make money and build a relationship. And I would hope that they actually did employ a receptionist that handled all that. But, anyways, I'm taking my business elsewhere because this is totally unacceptable, especially with these high ratings/reviews from customers and recommendations...

Put the apostrophe on my cake topper sign in the incorrect spot although I told them beforehand exactly how I wanted it and they even wrote it down on the paper how I wanted it. When I got there they gave me attitude and said âwe did it how we wanted to because none of us speak English here and didnât knowâ⊠um okay? I told you exactly how to do it and you chose to ignore your paying customer.
Gave me attitude about wanting to fix the sign. Then again more attitude when their fix was to cut off the apostrophe and paste it in the correct place . They went ahead and did it even though I told them not to and ruined the sign.
I asked them to put more fondant to cover some holes where the decoration was inserted into the cake (simple fix I thought) no, they proceeded to give me a lesson on why it couldnât be done⊠although Iâm the paying customer. And was also told âthe cake is meant to be seen from the front, you canât see the holes from the frontâ. No mam this isnât a Christmas tree where you only decorate the front. I paid $200 for a cake to be seen from all angles.
I told her repeatedly that I didnât want to argue, just wanted to pay for the cake and leave. She continued to tell me off and even told me she didnât want me back as a customer. No problem đ

Pusieron el apĂłstrofo en el letrero de mi topper de la torta en el lugar incorrecto aunque les dije de antemano exactamente cĂłmo lo querĂa e incluso escribieron en el papel cĂłmo lo querĂa. Cuando lleguĂ© allĂ me dieron actitud y me dijeron âlo hicimos como querĂamos porque ninguno de nosotros habla inglĂ©s aquĂ y no sabĂaâ⊠um, Âżde acuerdo? Te dije exactamente cĂłmo hacerlo y elegiste ignorar a tu cliente que paga.
Me dio actitud de querer arreglar el letrero. Luego, nuevamente, mĂĄs actitud cuando su soluciĂłn fue cortar el apĂłstrofe y pegarlo en el lugar correcto. Siguieron adelante y lo hicieron a pesar de que les dije que no lo hicieran y arruinaron el cartel.
Les pedĂ que pusieran mĂĄs fondant para tapar unos huecos por donde se metiĂł la decoraciĂłn en la torta (arreglo simple pensĂ©) no, procedieron a darme una lecciĂłn de por quĂ© no se podĂa hacer⊠aunque yo soy el cliente que paga. Y tambiĂ©n me dijeron "el pastel debe verse desde el frente, no puedes ver los agujeros desde el frente". No mamĂĄ, este no es un ĂĄrbol de Navidad en el que solo decoras el frente. PaguĂ© $200 por un pastel para que se viera desde todos los ĂĄngulos.
