Words can’t describe how happy I am that we don’t have to drive into Brickell, Wynwood, Ft.Lauderdale, the Grove or any place as equally saturated and over priced to be able to experience a 5-star experience like we did at A Love Story. The minute you drive onto the property, you’re immediately transported to a fairy tale, it starts even before you walk in with the grandeur entrance and attention to the smallest detail. You walk into a beautifully curated space with every corner of the restaurant, both inside and out, offering you a different vibe yet all flowing together beautifully and effortlessly. There is no shortage of “instagrammable” photo ops, but this place offers way more than that. THE SERVICE!! Top notch!! Despite being their opening week and clearly very, very busy, the attention we received from the bartenders while we waited for our table was as if we were their only client. He was patient, engaging, knowledgeable, funny, & made tending to a full packed bar look easy. I enjoyed various Dulce Venganza drinks which is a twist on the the traditional caipirinha, which I enjoyed very much and found better than the traditional drink. We decided to enjoy dinner on their terrace instead of inside because we were elated to find out, A Love Story, is a cigar friendly place! Being that my husband is an avid cigar connoisseur, it was a huge plus in our book. The outside area is not only gorgeous, but very spacious and well ventilated. Now, let’s move on to the food. We had ropa vieja empanadas, the croqueta sampler, lamb chops and papa brava. We loved every single dish… they were all flavorful and though some were traditional Cuban dishes, it had just enough of a twist to make it stand out from other restaurants. Our server was Johann, we will definitely be back and ask to be sat wherever he’s at that night because he was absolutely spectacular! We enjoyed this gorgeous place for at least 4 hours and left A Love Story easily 30 minutes after they closed because we were treated like family. By the end of the night the staff knew us by first name & we had the opportunity to meet Eric, the owner, and speak with him about the story behind the restaurant, his parents and his ties to the community that all helped give birth to this breathtaking venue and restaurant. We can’t wait...
Read moreI never like to leave bad reviews in restaurants, however this was the worst dining experience my family and I (who love trying new places to eat out) have experienced in a very long time. It was even worse as this was for my mom’s birthday and was ridiculously expensive just to have a terrible dinner.
The decor was very nice to take cute pictures together as you are waiting quite a while for the food and the live singing was very nice. I feel bad for the singer as she sang very good, however the volume was set so loud that you have to yell just so the person next to you can hear and left my ears ringing/ gave me a horrible headache after leaving.
The food was terribly mediocre in both taste and portions for the high standard prices you are paying for. For example the Basta Ya tostones were so small it looked like they made them in an easy bake oven (quite literally the size of quarters), barely had any flavor, and cost $13 for FOUR BITES TOTAL. The Don’t Stop Believing Bruschettas was probably the best food we ordered the whole night, which is a small task for just cheese and ham on a board (and $12 btw).
I didn’t drink anything expect water, however my family that each ordered different cocktails said that ALL their mixes did not taste well.
ALL of the main dishes were horrible for everyone I was dining with. The Chicken Alfredo barely had any taste to it as all you can taste was the heavy cream for the sauce and the pasta was rubbery ($25). The lamb was EXTREMELY SMALL and burnt ($40). The lobster didn’t have any good flavor to it ($46). The pasta with red sauce tasted like they used a bad quality store bought tomato sauce as it was very watery and bitter (25$). All the portions were so small, bad, and overpriced it felt like actual robbery.
The service was decent until we requested to the server to simply bring everyone out to sing my mom happy birthday WITHOUT bringing out any deserts (because we lost our faith after the main dishes). She agreed and then proceeded to get everyone to sing happy birthday, except bringing out a small flan that no one wanted to finish (after tasting bland) AND charging us 8 DOLLARS for a dessert we never asked for.
I’m shocked this place isn’t...
Read moreFrom the first time I visited A Love Story Winery and Bistro, I fell in love with the facility. Jessica Delgado, Director of Events, was super accommodating with appointment dates and times and showed me around the facility explaining the different options for my party size. I am extremely grateful to her and her staff for making my mom’s 80th birthday celebration a total success.
I have no words to express how beautiful everything was. The Forget Me Not Room was just perfect for our party. The attention to last-minute details, sitting arrangements, lighting, and overall space decorations made the experience an unforgettable one.
The pasta buffet was super unique and a total hit! The variety of pastas, meats, toppings, and sauces were abundant, fresh, and delicious. The chefs were extremely professional in taking orders and making sure every guest was satisfied with their food, encouraging them to come back for more as they desired. Everyone absolutely loved it and expressed repeatedly how abundant and delicious the food was!
The ENTIRE STAFF serving our party was AMAZING! From the time we arrived with centerpieces, decorations, laptop for video, etc., they were extremely accommodating and helpful with everything. The top-notch service continued throughout the entire time of the party. Even though Jessica was off on the day of the event, she called me on my cell several times during the party to make sure everything was running smoothly. We got a lot of compliments on the service and how attentive the staff was to everyone. I honestly have no words to thank everyone for their professionalism and kindness making the entire experience a total success.
My mom felt extremely special and blessed. Thank you, Jessica, again for making this day extra special! It’s now been almost a month since the party, and everyone is still talking about it and posting pictures of the event on social media. This makes me EXTREMELY happy because it means everyone had an awesome time! Definitely a party that will be cherished and remembered forever! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A Love Story Winery and Bistro for your next event. You won't regret it! THANK YOU, THANK...
