Recently came here on a lunch date with my boyfriend and was so pleasantly surprised! This restaurant is tucked away in a strip mall but once you walk in you can feel the authenticity of the Colombian Cuisine they offer. Service was immediately attentive and warm to my Venezuelan boyfriend and I which is really nice for a non-spanish speaker like myself. The restaurant was pretty packed for their lunch hours and we grabbed the last two person table available when we walked in. I also noticed that my boyfriend and I were probably the only non-Colombians in the restaurant which was an immediately good sign for me!
I had researched their lunch special beforehand for my food page and though they don't offer the same specials anymore we were informed that they still had discounted lunch special that varied daily. The two options were a whole fried fish and macitas de puerco which are some of my favorites so I was happy about it! The specials come with rice, soup, and a salad. I got the whole fried fish with a fish chowder and my boyfriend chose the pork with a red bean soup. All of it was delicious and they even gave us a whole avocado salad complementarily. The best part is when the check came around our entrees were $8/each for all that food! We had two box a lot of it up to take home. I really couldn't believe it and have since then recommended it to many others for lunch but would be interested now in coming in for a dinner...
Read moreGreat little place in the middle of Miller Drive. I enjoy their food but recommend it for lunch because they have specials. Dinner can get really expensive if you're not careful. My boyfriend and I have spent a solid $60 on food (2 entrees). I do know they have some $7 lunch specials with a good amount of food. I'm giving it a 3 because (A) it is pretty pricey and (B) Customer service SUCKS! These people really upset me, they just seem like they don't care. If you're ordering by phone to pick, you sense the attitude - as if it's terribly annoying to take a quick order. When you show up to pick it up it's another pissy party... ALL OF THEM! I've yet to meet anyone nice that actually works there. Unfortunately, they barely acknowledge you. I used to think maybe I wasn't being nice enough but after a while I figured it was just them, and I was being as respectful as possible. Hopefully I am the only one who has this issue because the place could be great if customer service were a...
Read moreI would give this restaurant a negative rating if possible. Came for breakfast and what a disappointment. We ordered a breakfast that includes egg, steak, rice and bean. It also included an arepa and a cheese. Where to begin, we didnt want the egg fried as explained in menu, but rather scrambled. It took them 20 minutes to respond they would only make that breakfast with a fried egg. But they would set it aside on a smaller plate (well thank goodness!) The food arrived STONE COLD, arepa hard and stale like a plastic plate. Cheese almost frozen. The famous egg that could only be served fried was dried out not at all a fried egg. The second breakfast, came with scrambled eggs with ham, onions, and foreign plastic sharp pieces of unknown materials. The fries tasted like their special of the day, fish. A complete and total disappointment. Would not recommend this...
