Son of a Pizza — Restaurant in Florida

My wife and I visit this place whenever we visit Homestead, and we usually have a great experience. The most recent visit was by far our worst experience ever. We couldn't believe we were in the same restaurant we favored whenever we were in the area. The visit started out pleasant as usual, but things turn for the worst after we received our drinks. My wife ordered a soda, and I ordered a draft beer. The beer tasted like dish soap! I brought the problem to the attention of our waitress, and her reply was a simple shoulder shrug. The next problem arise after the 30 minute wait to receive our food. My wife pasta dish was cold and did not taste fresh at all. My wings were completely over cooked. We pushed both of our plates to the edge of table and tried to get the attention of the waitress. The waitress seemed to avoid us completely!! The waitress never checked in on us to verify whether or not the food was ok, or if we wanted refills on our drinks. After another 30 minutes past and the waitress finally quit making an effort to not look at our table; the check was dropped on the table and we were offered to-go containers for the food that set on the edge of the table for the past 30 minutes. We expressed our unpleasant experience and how she did not even bother to acknowledge us at anytime during our visit. The waitress simply replied "Ok", and she went to the back of the restaurant. After about 5 minutes, the came back to pick up the check for payment. We explained to her, we didn't think it was fair to pay for items that we had issue with. She walked away and went to the kitchen. We could hear her discussing us to the supervisor, and nothing but negative disrespectful comments came from both of them. When she came back to the table after her discussion, she asked for payment again, I asked her was policy to force customers to pay for items that we didn't eat because we didn't like them? She left again to talk to her manager, and they finally altered the check and charged us for the garlic rolls and salad that came with the dish. I ordered a CHEESE pizza from this establishment and all it had was sauce and crust with some cheese sprinkled on top. I asked the waiter if they could please add more cheese in the pizza because if I wanted to eat sauce and bread I would’ve ordered breadsticks with marinara sauce. First, I was told if they added more cheese the crust would be a little burned. Then, I was told that it would be an up charge for extra cheese. I was not asking for anything free or extra I just wanted the pizza to be done the right way. I ordered a CHEESE pizza and wanted what I was going to pay for. Instead of the OWNER wanting to please the customer he argues that he has been doing pizza for 40years and didn’t want to add the extra cheese without an up charge. After we informed him that we dine there often then he wanted to add the extra cheese which is totally unacceptable. He should’ve just said he would fix it from the beginning instead of upsetting a customer. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. A great place to get mediocre pizza and an owner who cares nothing for the guest experience or satisfaction. I normally don’t leave reviews, however I decided this was worth the time. I had an excellent and nice server. The owner is a different story. He refused to correct an issue which would probably have cost him $1-2 to correct... I mean it’s a pizza slice not steak and lobster. Normally... anyone with any type of business sense would gladly lose $1-2 to keep a customer and have them return... NOT Mr owner of Son of a Pizza. I was shocked at the way he handled the situation, being rude and dismissive. It was obvious he didn’t care whether I came back or not.
