Verily, I must recount my recent sojourn to the most delightful establishment of culinary delights, a quaint BBQ haven that dost stand as a beacon of gustatory excellence. This fine abode, known far and wide as a purveyor of the most sumptuous fare, hath captivated my senses and left me in a state of rapture most profound.
Upon entering this esteemed house of BBQ, I was greeted with an ambiance both warm and inviting. The air was thick with the rich aroma of smoked meats, a tantalizing prelude to the feast that awaited. The decor, reminiscent of a rustic tavern, with wooden beams and flickering lanterns, did transport me to a bygone era, where hearty meals and jovial company were the order of the day.
My company and I were seated by a most amiable hostess, and shortly thereafter, we were graced by the presence of our waitress, the fair Danielle. This young maiden did attend to us with a grace and efficiency that is rarely encountered in these modern times. Her knowledge of the menu was thorough, and her recommendations proved to be impeccable. With a smile that could warm the coldest of hearts, Danielle ensured that our every need was met with haste and precision.
Now, let us speak of the pièce de résistance, the ribs. Ah, the ribs! Cooked to perfection, these ribs were a marvel of culinary craftsmanship. The meat, tender and succulent, did fall off the bone with the slightest touch, as if yielding to the will of the fortunate diner. The flavor was a symphony of smoky richness, punctuated by a subtle sweetness that lingered on the palate, a testament to the meticulous care with which they were prepared.
As I partook of these divine ribs, each bite was a revelation. The sauce, a secret blend of spices and herbs, did enhance the natural flavors of the meat without overpowering them. It was clear that these ribs had been given the utmost attention, cooked low and slow, allowing the smoke to permeate every fiber. Such a culinary marvel could only be achieved through years of mastery and a profound understanding of the art of BBQ.
But lo, the ribs were not the only delight to grace our table. The sides, too, were a testament to the establishment's commitment to excellence. The coleslaw, crisp and refreshing, provided a perfect counterbalance to the richness of the meat. The cornbread, warm and buttery, did melt in the mouth, a comforting accompaniment to the feast. And the baked beans, with their smoky undertones and tender texture, were a veritable delight.
Throughout our repast, Danielle was ever attentive, refilling our goblets and ensuring that our plates were never empty. Her service was impeccable, her demeanor gracious, and her presence most welcome. It is rare indeed to find such a gem, a waitress who embodies the very essence of hospitality.
As our meal drew to a close, we were loath to leave this haven of culinary delight. The memory of those ribs, so tender and flavorful, shall linger in my mind for many moons to come. And the service, oh the service! Danielle hath set a standard that shall be difficult to surpass.
In conclusion, I do declare that this BBQ establishment is a treasure beyond compare. The ribs, unparalleled in their perfection, and the service, exemplified by the fair Danielle, have combined to create an experience most extraordinary. I heartily recommend this fine abode to all who seek a meal that is both hearty and divine. Verily, thou shalt not be...
Read moreLook, I have lived in Florida for 11 years, before Covid Sonny’s had the best overall food for the buck. Their salad bar was chock full of Southern iconic side dishes. Now the salad bar is gone, But Sonny’s went out of their way to put great service to the for-front of their restaurants. In the dozens of times I have eaten here, the servers and managers ALWAYS went out of their way to make sure you got the best they had. Unfortunately that is not what happened today. We all have bad days once in a while, and today was a bad day for our server Melissa. After a full meal of poor service (and accusing me of acting HANGRY) she comes to our table and announces she is in a contest with the other servers to get the most “5 star reviews”. And if we could “help her out” with a 5 star review we would be rewarded with a complimentary dessert. Well when I was offered that BRIBE I asked to speak to the manager. About ten minutes later, Logan came to our table and introduced himself as the restaurant manager. I repeated how we were treated by Melissa to Logan and we were assured that this was not Melissa’s normal work (the restaurant wasn’t half full at 3:00 PM today). And I want to state that Melissa, after hearing directly from me, about the disdain she showed toward me during the meal, apologized to me. After hearing me out, Logan not only comped our meal, but offered us anything else that would have made this experience better for us. The food at Sonny’s isn’t the best Bar-B-Q in the city, but when you get people who show they care about what they are doing, that goes along way with me. Melissa didn’t show me that she cared about what I thought and experienced today, but Logan did. The Chef did. Even the hostess did. I am concerned that this 5 star review ploy is inflating their google rating so that patrons can get free dessert. Consider that when you decide to come here. Personally, I will try a different location in the future so I can miss Melissa’s bad days. There are so many things to love about dining at Sonny’s, but now that their salad bar is gone, they haven’t had internet for 3 years, and whoever designed the rewards (using that term loosely) for their app should be fired. What restaurant advertises their app rewards but don’t have internet service? Asking for a friend. We have had tons of good experiences at Sonny’s. I hope you...
Read moreSaturday night visit between 6 pm and 7 pm. First strike was no paper towel in the men's room to dry my hands as was the case my last visit. Ordered a sweet tea and it was perfect. We ordered the Redneck Egg Rolls also perfect. Ordered a new item on the menu that are pulled pork tater tots. My son said that they had a distinct aftertaste, which after trying them I agreed. My wife ordered dry rubbed ribs, mac and cheese and corn on the cob. They were out of corn, the mac was great and here is where the meal went terribly wrong. Three of us ordered dry rub ribs and they were more like jerky that was mounted to a burnt bone. It is hard for me to explain how overcooked they were but it was beyond belief. The manager got involved and we were served different ribs that looked fantastic but were not cooked long enough and were hard to get off the bone. I'm a local guy that likes Sonny's but I think they can do so much better. This location is very nice and our service was good. We drive from Sarasota to Bradenton to eat here and we want to like this place, we really do. I'm giving it one more try before I officially give up and just go to one of the several bbq options right here in Sarasota. I heard several complaints from other customers about the ribs and and believe someone in the kitchen dropped the ball. Servers should look at the food and make sure that quality food is being served. I almost forgot to mention that the jalepeno link sausage is very good. I am like most diners I just want what I order to come out properly the FIRST time and I am not looking for anything to be comped just serve quality food on a consistent basis. Saturday night should certainly be organized and ready to take care of customers with food properly prepared especially a place known for...
