I have lived in this county 50 years and I have been a chef for the Coast Guard station for many years in the past. Point is, I know good food when I eat it. I have seen them come and go. I pray that this one pays closer attention to the kind of help that he hires. I have been eating there a good amount of time but today I watched several employees whose clothes looked to be washed maybe a month or two ago and who hadn’t taken a bath, the same amount of time and a young black man whose fingernails were longer than a woman’s and full of dirt and germs underneath them and this guy handles the food there. There are too many good people working there because the results are proof. After seeing this more than several times, I would question everything from now on about this Resturant. The owner obviously cares nothing about Health and cleanliness. Some of the people work there look like freaks. If you don’t believe dirty people have no place in a restaurant then you are not civilized yet. Our country has come a long ways and millions of people have suffered that provided this country for the rest of us who are still alive . I am disgusted at what I see every time I go there now. What a shame, especially for the good people that work there and worked so hard for this, Mr. Stewby. I wish I could say “I’ll put this fish shanty up against any restaurant in this county.“ But not after seeing what I have seen over and over. Most of the time I go there I come home sick probably because of this type of filth behind the scenes. I love fish and I love it cooked well as they do here, but no need to eat something that’s going to make you sick. This man needs to learn what discipline is, he already knows what hard work is, and I am proud of him for that part. Like always, your employees make you or break you. These filthy people that work here would not...
Read moreSo I order from here quite often(at least once a week) never had an issue..They have a new young lady working and I came through the drive thru and she was taking payment and passing out food. I have never been there and not at least wait 30 minutes to 45 minutes for my food...I have waited my entire lunch break before and I have never complained..Then today it was like Speedy Gonzalez..The young lady wants my payment...I ask her if she could come back to me because I needed to transfer funds to the card I was using..And of course the line was moving...So I pay and then I ask if I can pay for some extra cocktail and a tartar sauce, the young lady was like oh no we will get u some. Ok cool..I get up to the window and wait for my order...Well the order that they gave me was not my order so im waiting some more. So they give me my order no extra cocktail or tartar...And then I say I didn't get the extra cocktail nor tartar...the young lady says it's in your box...I look in my box to make sure and nothing...So then I say u don't have it...She then comes back with an attitude like im bothering her with 4 sauces...So I say well dang I didn't need all.of these. She then goes to the counter and starts talking shit about me....I can clearly hear her and see her. Then she tells someone why is she still here..And im like hey I need to speak to a supervisor and someone by the name of Marrisa sticks her head out the window and I've dealt with her before and she was nice but I don't think she was a supervisor..She was a buffer because she knew that what that little girl was doing was totally messed up...im like why is it a problem that I want extra sauce I mean I even offered to pay and now u wanna be funny cause u trying to rush me up outta ur line... Please get ur Milllinials together before they learn the...
Read moreFirst time trying calamari and it was great. Ordering experience was rough despite the kindness of the staff. As it was a Saturday evening, we expected a wait and it’s a seafood joint right off the beach, no joke there will be a wait. However, during our 30 minute wait to order, the manager announced that they had to let their database catchup and then they would take our orders. They claimed they couldn’t take orders until they cleared a certain amount. I understand all about tech failure as they were constantly trying to reboot a screen for the front counter on orders. However the person waiting (very patiently I might add) at the front of the line, right in front of the register, was on a cane and with her grandson. So not like she could go sit and then he order for her. She looked like she was struggling to stand during all that time and the manager seemed to care more about operating and getting food out to those who had already ordered - which is important - but rather making the customer wait to order and not because they had anything else to do. The front counter folks were often just looking around trying to find things to keep them busy. It was not a great customer service display to have the customer wait it out to fix their issue. Use a paper method until you get caught up, but making the person or people who are making you money wait like that and watching you work, not a good look or feel. Overall, pretty good seafood and reasonable prices. I will say I’m a southerner and the okra and grits weren’t the best but they paired nicely with the calamari. If I was a local, I wouldn’t go back. But if you’re looking for a no nonsense seafood joint and have some potential time to...
