Iām some what confused and partly disappointed. I ordered a gyro platter with fries and a side salad. Unlike any gyro and salad I have ever had. Not in a particularly good way. The food had good flavor, but definitely was not what I expected. I paid just under $15 for this meal. Definitely not a what Iād call a āgyroā and Iām confused with the salad. The meat (honestly have no idea what kind) had great flavor, but only came with 4 small slices. The best part of this dish was the rice.. (looked like 2 kinds of rice with garbanzo beans/chickpeas mixed in - definitely yummy!)
In my experiences, a gyro is a sandwich that usually has shaved meat with peppers, onion, etc. in a pita. Definitely not what this was. Iām unsure if this is because I ordered a āplatterā and not just a gyro (there was 2 options, āplatterā option came with choice of 2 sides). Also, when I imagined salad, I assumed some form of lettuce would be included..
Iām not saying the food was ābadā, it was simply not what I expected a gyro and salad to be. The flavor was there, but it was a miss for me. Probably wonāt frequent here (not my metaphorical cup of tea).
My suggestion for this place would be to put descriptions of each item onto their menu. I definitely would have ordered something more to my liking had I read some form of description.
Long story short, not where to go for that American image of a gyro, but the food definitely had good...

I came in to try the food with my daughter & let me start off by saying I really wanted to love this place because I love supporting small businesses. I ordered a gyro sandwich and my daughter ordered a kefta platter with green beans and yogurt. The gyro meat tasted like dog food and the bread was so hard it cracked and crumbled in my hands. My daughters kefta platter was the most unappetizing thing I have ever seen. Not only was the meat half frozen but everything was COATED with oil. The green beans were soggy and tasted old. The one SMALL piece of bread was extremely hard. You may think it canāt get much worse but trust me it does. I couldnāt even finish dining in because my daughterās and my eyes began to burn so bad. I noticed small flies flying around and ants crawling near the pastries. The two young men behind the counter didnāt seem to happy to be there either. Honestly, I could have made everything better myself in my own kitchen rather than paying for over priced air fryer food. This is one of the worst ārestaurantsā I have been to in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a family run spot with absolutely genuine people and food that's just good. The menu has depth and can you actually beat fresh pita? I would call ahead, unless you're eating there. I love the place, but sometimes food prep requires time. We're patient and rewarded every time, but you should know what you're in for.
Don't sleep on some of the best hummus available in the area with za'atar pita chips (or garlic I think). Kefta is as homemade as it gets (in the best way), chicken is delicious, and much more.
Baklava? Lights out good and decadent. If you're going to eat it later, wrap or store airtight. It's too good fresh to mishandle it. Abboud salad is refreshing and tasty. The rice with the chickpeas? Comforting and perfect with a platter.
I have yet to try the falafel and it's literally happening this week. I have no doubt it will be great.
Lastly, PARENTS OF SMALL CHILDREN USING THE ART PLACE, JIU JITSU, ETC, OR JUST DRIVING NEARBY! You can buy a pita for your hungry kiddo for like a buck or two! That saved the day for us...
