If I could give Oasis Club a 0-star rating, I 100% would. I went on a family vacation this week and stayed at an AirBnB within the Champions Gate community, where we had full access to the Oasis Club through it. The staff was extremely unpleasant, their system/security policy was never consistent and they focused more on the capitalism/profit over the guest’s happiness and health. Every single experience trying to get in here was a hassle and was absolutely unacceptable.
First, my brother-in-law and partner decided to go to their gym the first day. They gave us a huge issue trying to get in. IYAWO and MIA were working at the front. When we showed them our Champions Gate pass with our guest information on it, they very rudely informed us that it was the wrong information and we needed other information to confirm our stay. We scrambled for the other information, calling our host to get the necessary screenshots as both MIA and IYAWO talked to us like we were all children. Absolutely unacceptable treatment as a guest. We were finally able to provide the correct information, even after MIA tried to deny us AGAIN after following her protocol, and brought in our headphones and reusable bottles for the gym. A few days later, we went to the gym again and brought our reusable bottles once more and had no issues signing in.
After, we went home to change while the family decided to go to the pool for the day. We packed our coolers with some beverages, waters and snacks to bring by the pool. We got there and expected an issue since we noticed a sign saying “no outside food or beverages allowed onto the premises”, but surprisingly, we had no issues and walked in with our coolers and ONCE MORE our reusable water bottles. The pool was nice, but the bar services were all over the place and no sports equipment was provided to us. All drinks were extremely expensive and every single transaction includes gratuity automatically. It was a fortune to just get some drinks by the pool, ON TOP OF THE AIRBNB COSTS.
The final day of our stay, the day that infuriated me the most, we went to the pool to give it another chance. As the front desk did not give us any issue with our coolers or reusable bottles the last couple times, despite the signs, we did the same thing and packed some beverages and snacks in our cooler. Once again, we ran into the very rude security guard who takes his job way too seriously, IYAWO, and another unpleasant woman. They told us were not able to bring our coolers in. We complied and then simply asked if we could at least bring our EMPTY reusable bottles in to fill with water, like we have been for the gym on our previous days. They said “no outside food or drink at all”, disregarded our questions and continued to take care of other customers behind us. We ended up leaving all the coolers out in the car and returning.
Since nobody had any water or water bottles with them on the very sunny 100 degree day, I went up to the bar to ask for some water - a necessity when weather is hot. The bartender pointed to a tiny water cooler with some VERY SMALL snow cone cups on the side. I immediately went up to one of the manager, MONIQUE SHELBY, and complained because I was very upset. After a frustrating discussion, she finally let me know that we were wrongly informed and ARE permitted to bring in disposable water bottles, but not reusable waters bottles. It does not make sense since we had no issues going to the gym, but whatever.
We walked back out to the car to get our, now hot, water bottles and brought them in with no issues - HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?
This facility is absolutely terrible and the Oasis Club staff needs to check themselves and their “policies” before they go too power hungry. It is absolutely unacceptable for people to pay this much money for their stays and have so many restrictions at one time, but not another. Not to mention provide PROPER methods of hydration at a...
Read moreThe staff here need to be trained on how to communicate with guests, and the policies here need to be clarified because the inconsistency in the policies and the lack of sense the rules here have is just bewildering.
First of all, the staff was incredibly rude. Not warm and inviting in any sense. Imagine a mall cop on steroids and that’s what the front desk workers mentality is. Seriously, people are here to sit in the sun and enjoy the pool and they make the TSA look pleasant and tame.
I will never book another vacation in this community.
The amenities are nice but once you factor in that you need to sacrifice your first born child to enter the grounds, it completely makes the experience here sour.
The bar adds automatic 18% gratuity, but they don’t tell you that. You will only learn that if you look at your receipt afterwards.
If you sit near the lazy river, they have poolside service but if you go up to the Tiki bar (like any tourist would), then the poolside servers flip a switch and ignore you because the bar said that they are separate from the servers, so you’ll instantly run 2 tabs and the pool girls know they won’t get tips so they ignore you. Our server came by once an hour at best once we mentioned one of our family members went up to the bar and just never came around. She only came around after getting frustrated long enough to go up to the bar ourselves.
You need a QR code to get into the entire facility, but that’s not good enough to get into the clubhouse. You need to have your entire documentation, so you better hope whoever actually booked the vacation comes with you because they need to be there. If they want to chill and stay back, then so are you.
You can’t even bring an EMPTY water bottle into the facility because “we don’t allow ANY outside drinks” but you can bring in a ‘disposable’ water bottle. That policy makes no sense. In the middle of summer it’s a huge liability because they simply offer tiny little 2-3 ounce snowcone cups to “refresh” you.
But you CAN bring a water bottle if you use the gym. Which you can then instantly walk outside to the pool. So I can use my bottle at the gym, but not the pool? How does that even make sense?
If you rent an Airbnb, then you better hope you have a good homeowner who keeps up with their HOA and doesn’t have any lapses because if the owner of your rental isn’t up to date, then you simply cannot access any of the facilities YOU paid to use.
The staff seem extremely entitled and high and mighty. It’s like they wanted to be an FBI agent to investigate your entire life to make sure you’re following the law of the land with zero room for error.
The pool area was set up so nicely but the staff here are all so arrogant that they ruined the vibe entirely and made us just not want to even come to the facilities.
Figure out your problems, and solve the inconsistencies in your routine. Day 1 we brought a whole cooler and nobody told us we couldn’t do that, and then the next day they wouldn’t even let us bring in our bottles of water until we pushed back and made a scene because a member of our family has serious dietary restrictions and health related problems that required us to bring in, at the very least, the cooler of waters.
I wanted to like it here but this clubhouse ruined the entire...
Read moreThe only reason that I'm giving this two stars is because the pools are very nice. However many of their policies are very prohibitive to any family having an enjoyable vacation.
I just finished a four week rental at ChampionsGate and went to the Oasis club most days.
First, the pool hours are ridiculous.
Over the last 17 years I have stayed at numerous different resorts in the Davenport area. This is the only place where the swimming pool is open from 9:00 to 9:00 pm
They seem to think that they are an amusement park and not what they are in actuality, a hotel pool. People who go out and about around Orlando often spend a good part of the day away from their hotel. One of the fun things is to be able to go back to your hotel and go for a dip later in the evening or to go for a dip or sit in the jacuzzi early in the morning before you leave on your day's adventures. Other resorts where I have stayed had a pool that was open 24 hours a day. And the bare minimum of any place I've ever stayed was 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. These ridiculous pool hours lessened our ability to have an enjoyable experience during our stay.
Second, the food and drink policy is also insane. They search your bags upon entering the pool area because they are so afraid that someone might bring in their own drinks or snacks. I thought to myself, "oh this must be because they want to keep the pool area clean so that they won't have any spills or food left about." But no, as soon as you walk in they hit you with food and drink that you can buy from them and have around the pool. So in actuality, they don't care at all about keeping the pool area clean - they have those rules because they want to eke your last dime out of you! My rental unit cost $5,000 for the four weeks I was there yet I wasn't allowed to bring a can of coke with me to the swimming pool! How stupid is this??? Even Disney Parks let you bring food in. So if they think of themselves as some great amusement park - which they are not, they're just a nice swimming pool - then at least have a policy that allows people to bring in snacks if they want to. The reality is that 95% of people would just buy their stuff anyway. So you're not really making any extra money by having such a Draconian policy. I determined that I would not buy one thing from them (when I probably would have otherwise) because of their stupid no food or drink policy.
Their pool was nice, but I would not recommend any family with children to stay here because these dumb food and drink policies really detract from your day around the pool and add tons of additional cost or inconvenience if you have to leave the pool every time you want to give your...
